So after some small testing for myself after i started noticing it, it seems that when i charge my ipod, while only touching the virtual joystick(and moving it) my ping increases a lot, i will often use multiple spell at one time, my screen will spin around in circles and zoom in and out, and enter and exit chats frequently.
These problems do not occur while i am not using my virtual joystick, and all the options are set to on besides the pixel double, and turning on and off the lock orientation option does not effect it, other than the screen doesn't so much spin as it has more of a lag like look to it.
My ipod is the 4th gen touch software 4.1
