I think at level 30 or 40, each class should be able to specialize into a special passive ability. This would add more dimension into the game and further customization from player to player.

Example of how this works, the following specs are all passive bonuses:
Archer:
Dead eye: +5 crit
Assassin: +2 speed

Bear:
Warlord: +50 health
Crusader: +1 hp regen

Mage:
Archmage: +50 Mana
Cleric: +2 Mana regen

Obviously these are probably not balanced, but I think it would be fun to do a special quest in fathom crypt or some other town that would be much more difficult than a normal quest (maybe even have to solo it). After that, your character will have that passive bonus for the rest of the game.

The skills revamp will include passive and active skills.

SWEET... extra xp gain lol... though could be considered a waste if other passives really good.
