Currently level 24 - Why do elite level knowing that the expansion is due

Right, so I am currently level 24 with my rogue. Now the question is, should I stay at level 24 until after the expansion comes out so that I dont have to do the elite level twice?

So if I hit 25 now, I trigger the 26k xp level, whereas, if I stay at 24 until the cap raise, then my level 25 rank should just be normal 2600/3100 right?

Be curious to see what peoples opinions are on this and see if anyone sees a point in me ranking to level 25 now?

By the way, no, I have no need for a level 26 banner! :)

After the expansion, EVERYONE's xp to 26 will revert back to normal. For instance, I am 25 and have about 8000/26000 toward 26. When the expansion comes out, I will have 800/2600 toward 26.

Ok, this is what I thought. So you have gathered 8000 xp and that will become 800xp, so you are effectively losing the additional 7200xp you have earned.

It makes more sense to wait, then just earn 800xp as per normal instead of playing for a long period to lose a whole bunch of xp.

I wanted to make a thread on this cause I go into the hauntlet and see it full of level 25 players killing themselves for hit that elite rank lol.

So an example, lets say that each run gives 100xp. A level 25 player will need to do 260 runs to gain level 26. Now, if I get to level 25 then stop, once the level cap comes, I will only need to do 26 runs to reach the exact same goal of level 26. Crazy huh.

Its not about having nothing else to do, go make another character. Its just crazy to slave away for that 26k xp, I see a constant flow of people doing it to reach that 'top' rank, not realising that they could save themselves ALOT of time if they just wait patiently. Its not for the banner.

Just a personal milestone I guess, I power leveled last cap to 21 right before expac hit so I could get a banner that would be unobtainable after cap raise. This time I took it easy and focused on hitting 25 and making cash early on in the expac. I need about 2k exp now till 26 and then ill probably take a break again till next expansion.

Yeah I just see so many level 25's run the hauntlet cause its good for xp. I'm now gonna hit 25 then probably do some elite with either character, no point in doing hauntlet at level 25 now cause there is no gain.

Presumably, the expac wont drop till the end of the month, and getting 1k+ exp everyday isn't very hard. Its not like you have to grind all day to reach 26. Ive taken my time since the lvl cap raise, so I didn't burn my self out. Anyhow, after I hit lvl cap today or tomorrow ill pretty much quit till next expansion. Not much else to do, imo.

Hit 25, then go farm elites. Consider any XP you get as just a bonus. No reason to stop short since it in no way hurts you to be 25.

Agreed. There are a shed load of players who arent doing this though and that are in hauntlet cause its 'best for xp'

Basically whatever percentage of the 26000 xp you have towards the 26 cap will be the same percentage when the new lvl 26 is scaled down after the new expansion.

i personally work for 3 capped toons per season as a personal milestone and to accumulate the loot and sell off once i capped all three and to experience end game with all toons because things can b slightly different depeding on the character. i dont think its hard at all to cap right now, i have 3 76's in pl and that can b some time wasting grinding but its worth it to play end game as any available toon.

yeah after expansion you will be the same level as what youre level is now.

They are going to divide your current xp by 10. So instead of having 17000/26000 you will have 1700/2600.

Personal milestone. I feel pretty good about myself, knowing that I have hit both the 16 cap and the 21 cap, soon to be 26 cap as well. The banner is nice, but I usually only use the lv16 banner because it's rarer than the newer ones.
And who knows, STS may come up with some bonus for people who capped.
