View Full Version : New Players Leeching in Endgame rooms.

Recently, I have leveled my Paladin to 68, and went into a lost valley room, only to see a level 11 mooch off exp from others in the room, keeps dying, and repeatably tries not to attack.

Team Ricon's instinct immediately kicks in, and I managed to coerce everyone in the room to run back to spawn, causing rage for that level 11. The Level 11 then started to cuss at me, swearing profanities against me when I responded that he shouldn't even be in endgame rooms to leech exp from us. I gathered everyone in the party except him and hosted a new room for them to have fun in.

During this time, the Level 11 started to state that he knows Parakseven or whoever that kill booster is, knows one of Rated M and True Legacy's members, and even claims to know a developer that is 'online' right now. I simply ignored his ranting and moved on.

Regarding this incident happened today, this has led me to think, is today's generation of Platinum Spenders so bad to the point of using a newly-created character to leech in endgame infinite mob rooms? Okay, maybe I was exaggerating about this generation, but given the chance, would you guys rather have a low leveled player that joins and dies repeatably and not attack at all, or would you rather have a player whose armor is weak but is at the level range and still do competent DPS?

New players are often expecting us players to help them in a rude way, often ordering us via PMs to give them cash/power-level them/buy their items... Even though I felt obliged to help them, the problem is, nobody likes a rude player in the game, and that nobody likes to do his share of the work, while someone simply mooch the same amount of exp in the room without doing anything.

In that sense, I'm not going to help such rude players at all, and I would mute them to prevent them from annoying me, plus I would spread word to my friends not to invite that particular offender in any of their games.

For those who are new to the game and just passed by the forums, know that Pocket Legends was never meant for rude and insolent players, and I would very much preferred if such players leave. I would love to see the new generation of players prosper with at least respect to others, rather than for rude players which loves to pick up bad habits to ruin other's experiences.

Note that I have not stated the name of the offending party that leeches and most recently insulted me. Thanks for reading.

Screen shot? Don't post here, just email support@spacetimestudios.com

They have the ability to ban devices, I don't think being "pro" justifies this behavior.

I think you must have mistaken this as a complaint. Please read carefully regarding the red text.

I also saw a level 10 recently in lost valley. He just stood in the middle and didn't do anything. I told him to fight so he attacked an enemy and instantly died. He was then revived and didn't attack any more, just leeched xp, so I just left the game.

Ok, so you're mad partially because a level 11 didn't attack a level 75 mob? That I don't understand.

The bad mouthing is an issue though.

I think you will come to know of it when you have experienced it for yourself.

My opinion, for what it is worth, is that if you make a game or join a hosted game, anyone who joins that you do not like the behaviour of, you or the host can boot. That is what the boot button is for. If you join a non hosted game then you are joining an open game for all people. That does mean level 11s could potentially get xp in a lev 75 map. There wouldn't be the option of joining that level map if it were not permitted. There are plenty of ways to get around this. Always host a game or pw a game then you don't have to worry about it. Also, bear in mind, it is equally frustrating to players who are in level 10 maps, plugging away killing mobs when a level 75 drops in, running to the boss, preventing the low levels from gaining kills. Always 2 sides to every coin.

As for your rant about new players, some might say that you were being less than respectful and perhaps a little rude yourself. Not every new player is insolent and rude and not every level 75 player is an angel.

I also see plenty of level-appropriate characters leeching infinite mob maps. Either way I do as happiness says and leave or boot. Mute for the nasties and move on. Otherwise it would just get too frustrating.

I have. Many, many times. I actually enjoy helping lower level players to a certain point (that point being level 50).

I don't mind helping as long as I see them trying. I'm not going to run a map for you an I'm not going to give you 5k.

Leeching sucks and i always call it out when i see it in a game.

I wish there was a way to actually remove XP from players who stop playing in a map. They should get negative XP every second after 45 seconds of inactivity/non-fighting. That would be hilarious.

Want the rude players to disappear? Seems this can be accomplished simply enough. Again, an email should suffice.

If you really have a problem with low level players leeching off endgame players in endgame dungeons, just leave. They paid for it so why can't they do it?

Yes, it can be annoying, but there's really no need to make a thread about it. All you need to do is leave and the leechers are gone

I've never understood this. It doesn't give them any extra xp, does it?
Plus it's slower than just leeching off of a high level in a low level dungeon..

A low lev in a high lev map has a higher threat level and does get the max xp. Sometimes being in the appropriate map the threat level can be lower than red and be less than the first example.
