Southern Seas Captain Bloodhammer doesn't give a drop?

So I was playing southern seas a lot, and sometimes The captain didn't drop a drop. I have an ipad mini, but people were saying it happens all the time to them. Also I beat my previous record that time so maybe..?

Yes that's a bug that happens when boss is killed somewhere close to up far corner of the map.

Best items dropped there are bloodhammer helms, and elite gold chest . So reason the entire season of farming i have never , ever got a elite gold pirate chest in my life . But have got a couple bloodhammer helms.

He also drops plenty of Epic items as well as Bloodhammer "pinks".

The three chests are always there when he jumps overboard but not the rest loot if he is killed near to up corner, i.e. rare, epic, legendary items (bloodhammer helms) or elite chests.

Interesting, I almost always see 3 chests and two items (one of which may be an elite pirate chest)

I had this happen to me once before too when I was up in the far upper left corner. I assumed that it happened because I was too far away from the boss when he "died" or from where he jumped off of the ship. As we all know, on other levels if you are too far away from the boss when he dies you don't get a drop (I am sure we have all noticed this as it is common courtesy to try to wait for a guy to return to the boss after they have respawned from a death before killing the boss). I assumed that at southern seas the game is using the place where the boss jumps off the ship as the place where he "dies" (after all, that is where he drops the loot) and not where your team made the final blow. Perhaps you do not get a drop if you are to far away from where he jumps off the ship. This may be confirmed if all instances of him not dropping loot occurred when you were in the far upper left corner. Just my theory, but may be completely wrong....

All 3 times it happened was when boss was done near the far upper right corner of the ship

This has happened to me a few times as well, and yes it's always when being knocked back to one of the corners before the cut scene of him running away kicked in. Like grimmy I just assumed it was from being too far away

It didn't happen to me. But there was one time that all of us in elite SS looted a COMMON item. Haha. Wasting pots and 5-7mins just for a common item lol.
