View Full Version : So I Just Made A Bow Rogue

Lvl 25. All dex. All bow skills and veil. Max agi.

After testing the build, I was amazed at the damage potential, but I was blown away by how much it costs to maintain it! I've never used so many health and mana pots on a single map before (skull cove). I have a lvl 26 war and lvl 26 sorc and they are like an economy class compared to the bow rogue!

I do have a question, for a bow rogue, what enhancements can I take that will work if I just spam skills without charging?

AS?
NB?
SSS?

Thanks!

This build is horrible, you should try a different route. (I really just don't want a twin running around) Daggers all the way! (Please change your build ASAP, then again there is no way hes faster than me though)Heard about those Flintlocks? There boss! (I'm THE bow Assassin! don't need a copycat)...lol. Seriously, PM me if you need pointers:)

Haha can I PM you for some pointers too? I sold my 25 Flintlocks last week (and of course the price skyrocketed right after because of double XP weekend), and now only have my trusty Shipmaster's Bow left.

I don't feel like re-buying daggers for more than what I sold them for so close to expansion, so I'm trying the bow route. Problem is, I'm having mana issues and I think my technique is lacking.

Max out your INT passive - that will give you a nice Mana and HP boost.

At end-game, you should be able to find 5 skill points that can be reallocated.

If that still leaves you spamming pots, try allocating some attribute points to INT. You take a hit on DMG, but the ability to keep spamming skills more than offsets the loss - especially when you can stack crit!

Yeah, rogues use so many mana pots...
Ofc there are way to reduce it:
- get wizzard with healing with mana up skill;
- use mana pets like: Jack ( the best mana pet ), konga, glacian, flap jack, ripmaw;
- use pets wich bost dmg and int: malison, colton, wrathjaw, kettle, slag;
- other build, like (I got): 5 int passiv, veil, trap, nox, aim. After up passiv 5 dex.

Hrm any thoughts about Nexus vs Jack only in terms of mana?

If you run Elite Windmoore Harbor often you can get your hands on another set of Flintlocks easy.

Another thought is to stay close to Warriors with VB active.

When you get hit by a mob when you are within the AoE of VB, you will get HP and Mana returned. It's risky business because you first have to be able to absorb the damage, but the return in HP and Mana can be very high. This tactic is especially useful in PvP.

Allow the Warrior to cast VB first (you will see a ripple around him every couple of seconds), stay right on top of him and spam away with your skills. If you are able to do enough damage, you will get aggro, and bingo - quick mana replenishment!

I don't like relying on anyone to keep me alive. I do plenty of elite dives "Tankless". Saying that, if you want to stay alive and still put out dmg..i'd suggest putting points in Might and Knowledge evenly (3or4/5 each).
