Please (if you haven't read them yet) don't set up an opinion before reading these great threads with JustG's talk:

http://www.spacetimestudios.com/show...-a-Whole-Today

http://www.spacetimestudios.com/show...Fixin%92-in-PL

Please keep the discussions rant-free and clean, thanks!

For all the curious and data fanatics among you,
I thought it would be a good idea to gather up all the release dates for each expansion cap and to calculate the period between each of them to the next one,
so yeah, with this thread I wanted to show and share how much time between the expansions (caps) was used or needed to develop them.
I will count in Months and Days:

Times between Expansion Caps

Cap #1
Cap #2
Time

SL's Release (07.20.2011)* >
Numa Prime (08.11.2011)**
22 Days

Numa Prime (08.11.2011) >
Slouch-O Productions (09.14.2011)
1 Month & 3 Days

Slouch-O Productions (09.14.2011) >
Shipyard (10.20.2011)
1 Month & 6 Days

Shipyard (10.20.2011) >
Planet Volaria (12.15.2011)
1 Month & 26 Days

Planet Volaria (12.15.2011) >
The Scorn Crusade (09.19.2012)
9 Months & 4 Days

The Scorn Crusade (09.19.2012) >
Planet STS.25 (04.25.2013)
7 Months & 6 Days

Planet STS.25 (04.25.2013) >
Today (01.26.2014)
9 Months & 1 Day

*Beta release on Android - since there was a content update on the same day -
means the live development of SL started on this day

**Official (full) launch on Android

And here a little diagram:
60029

The Average Time an Expansion needs to be developed is 133.71 days (4 Months and 11 Days).

The Median is 56 Days (1 Month 3 Weeks and 5 Days).

The wait time for AO3, (PL's L50) was pretty long, too.

Overlay the release dates for dark legends and arcane legends and prepare to not be surprised.

That would be both sad and hilarious at the same time. Clearly STS doesn't have enough devs on staff to do more than one project at a time. Remember when Sam told us there would be at least one assigned to each game at all times?

Sorry, I meant OMG AL IS TOTALLY SWEET

Apparantly Spacetime Studios is dedicating a lot more resources to AL than to the other games which seems to me pretty unfair.

Yea, they st8 out said that on another thread I read a month ago. AL has more people on it, is there reasoning.

There would be a lot more people playing SL like it used to if they put out content like SL used to get that made it so epic. DL appeared and everything went downhill.

SL still is my favorite Legends game, but it is not solo friendly and since my guild left due to the lack of content updates, I had to move on as well.
