For all the curious and data fanatics among you,
I thought it would be a good idea to gather up all the release dates for each expansion cap and to calculate the period between each of them to the next one,
so yeah, with this thread I wanted to show and share how much time between the expansions (caps) was used or needed to develop them.
I will count in Months and Days:

Times between Expansion Caps

Cap #1
Cap #2
Time

AL's Release* (11.02.2012) >
The Dead City (12.19.2012)
1 Month & 17 Days

The Dead City (12.19.2012) >
The Kraken Isles (02.21.2013)
2 Months & 2 Days

The Kraken Isles (02.21.2013) >
The Battle for Nordr (04.19.2013)
1 Month & 29 Days

The Battle for Nordr (04.19.2013) >
Realm of Shadows: Shuyal (08.29.13)
4 Months & 10 Days

Realm of Shadows: Shuyal (08.29.13) >
The Dragon Enclave (03.13.14)
6 Months & 13 Days

The Dragon Enclave (03.13.14) >
Today (04.05.14)
3 Weeks & 2 Days

*This is the date of the limited release in Canada and Australia,
since there were Content Updates on the same day - means the development started then

And here a little diagram:
78932

The Average Time an Expansion needs to be developed is 87 days (2 Months, 4 days).

The Median is 61 Days (2 Months, 1 day).

Thank you :o ,

Yes i think it was a good moment to make these threads, let me quote what Battegrinder wrote:

Exactly. I'm getting tired of all the "STS only cares about AL these days" posts. Maybe these 4 threads will calm some of that down.

The beta was open to anyone in Australia and Canada through google play store on android. I know that people... did find other ways to play during this time but I don't think that there was any beta that I knew of only open to AoAs and GoAs.

maybe yes or maybe not , with the new updates this week , like the shuyal arena , they need to profit first on that , before releasing the next expansion XD
but maybe im wrong reading at their marketing strategy :pirate:

The Devs usually announce a new expansion two or three weeks before.

STS usually does new expansions in their games every 4-6 months. However, when they first released Arcane Legends, they said they would release the first 4 expansions very quick so that the game would have more content to keep players from getting too bored, but that after those initial expansions they would move to a more regular schedule. So I would expect an expansion every 4-6 months from here on forward.

Hopefully with little updates here n there to stave off the boredom (kinda getting depressed looking at all PL players do to keep boredom away...)

My opinion is that the quests are too easy. In PL we had the 1000 ichor quest that took players over a month to complete. We need something time consuming like that in AL. They should add a quest that's really hard and time consuming to keep folks busy, and then give a really good reward to those who complete it.

The only problem with the ichor quest in PL was that the elite weapon that was rewarded could not be traded. If it could it would probably be worth millions. They should do a similar type of quest in AL but make the reward tradable. That way some players can do it as a means to earn money.

I do hope the quest to upgrade armor and helm in the next expansion is not something that takes an hour, but something more extensive.

As long as there are new small minor updates from time to time, I'll hold up :3

That would be quite a nice idea, 1000 shadows or so to collect! ;)

Well, I'm overwhelmed by the numbers of achievs I still have to acquire this expansion. So I dont mind it going a little longer. But six month is a bit too long, to be honest.

it'll be much better if the next expansion would be bigger like lvl cap 60 or something...

Adding a few more levels wouldn't even keep me from capping on 1st day. That would be a pointless and non necessary upgrade.

Guys, would be an average time about how long a new expansion needs to be developed a good add-on?

How about a median and an average time? An average time alone would be misleading because the time between each expansion increases.

Well combined, thank you, I will add the median to the average then as well.
