Ok, so I think i keep hearing how they just don't stack up and everything, but i really want on! sexier than them shiv bears... what are the REAL pros and cons?
so far got:
+debuff (as opposed to bear)
+medium hp (his restore is more effective to him than to bear too, less hp to recover)
+combo (bears=none)
-only one knockback, no stuns (i notice 2h swords have a stun like hammers though)

Well r u changing a current bird into a str bird or r u making a completely new char?
i love it, its skill 'evasion' makes +50 dodge
'focus' makes +50 hit chance + 50crit chance

also just realized the potential for avian scream... affects everyone in 3m (just make it 4 pls...) and 100% stun... supposedly. why is it those stunned cultist with claymores are still hitting me??

and on additional, birds benefit from the STR+DEX build of a standard melee-
lv45 142str then DEX
lv50 158str then DEX

i started a new char... but am thinking I'll just re-spec my lv33 one. final time asking, any real/new advice to give?

I love my str bird. They are very fun to play with. Once I get a Gorgux hammer, I'm going to throw that badboy on him with possibly batterage gear for extra hit points, and rely on restore and meditation.

tanks are still better. tank birds are second best.

oh so tank birds are better than pally? interesting... just don't know why though.
i would gladly switch back to dex-mage, and leave items for my bird, but need to know why.
edit: also, why do i see so few dex mages now? honestly the only recent one ive seen is holybean...

Dex mages thrived, then died, all in one week. They might be back due to new weapons. Bird tanks (45) hardly worked, the pure birdy worked much better back then, but again the new weapons could change that.
I like shiv bears, dex mages, int birds.

already here, EVERYONE with a low level dude add Sangaroh my str bird. im really annoyed after the overlord fiasco of mine, so will spend time on him.

Seriously? im the only one....
btw, full mage will rock with full cosmos, 32 mana regen... 12 health regen... use the manashield and go PVP !

Ralve, Fyi, Xhell is also a IntBird. and you will still get damage with mana shield on as long as your mana bar is at 0. What level is Sangaroh, Arterra? I am creating a pure dex bird/ str bird. also training my new pure mage. Kindly inform me where and how will you train. Thanks :)

I love str birds, you get the skills of the bird (armor reduction, screams) but survivability of a str. I'd just prefer a bear if I want to tank though.

Bears do have a combo, its just hard to get. Slash, Slash, stomp.

I don't know about this, never seen or tried it. I do know a freeze proc weap + stomp creates a combo, but other than that I have no idea how a bear can solo-combo.

Int Bears can Create their own combo, tankers cant as long as there is no elve or avian near them.

a darkblade or that nightmare hammer from plat shop seems like only option for it.
sorry nothing for dex i think.
