I was thinking of making an anti scamming guide video on my channel.
http://www.youtube.com/user/PLsApeProductions

But I wasn't sure if this will be efective. This because I was thinking when I made this guide showing you not having to fall for certain scamming tricks people will just start using them.

I really wanted to make this guide since so many people are getting scammed lately but I'm kinda lost here if I should do it now.

So what do you guys think?

I think there are quite a lot of guides on this topic already, no need to pile on..

Have a friend of you tell you (through Pm method) all kinds of scamming methods which will you reply in an appropiate manner and how to deal with them in a video. You could then try and Pm a Dev to make it a Sticky on the "New Players" section.

Scammers make use of people with absolutely no common sense.

Myself getting scammed is also a reason.
But do you guys think I should really show some actual scamming methods so people wont fall for them, or would this just learn people the scamming method?

There are threads already detailing the specific methods, I don't think it either created more scammers or prevented most scams.

As a general rule, most people who get scammed would not have the common sense to prevent themselves from getting scammed in the first place, nor would they think to watch a video on how to get scammed unless you titled it with something like "Pocket Legends Hacks".

You can do it, I'm not stopping you, but I'm telling you now that it most likely will be a waste of your time.

The idea isn't very original and is a chat problem so videos are unnecessary.

To me getting scammed is a pretty hard thing to thing to come across. I say its mostly common sense ie, double check before acceptin trade, if trade amount is over cap have a trusted 3rd party(hope you peeps don't mind as a example: apollo, crimson, lwmark, snake, billybob, etc), doubling gold is impossible, no cross game sells etc. There have been a couple clever ones that I can't even member as of now but those are far and few in between. So no need for a guide IMO, nice of ya to think of other players though

A video guide that you can round up in a short paragraph is no video guide at all

I tend to agree that common sense is effective against most scams, so those who get taken are not going to get much out of a guide. However, there are some tricks that common sense doesn't help against. Like that scam where a trade is offered, everything looks legit, then scammer makes an item substitution at the last second with a less valuable one. Yes, using extreme care will prevent this, but IMO bringing awareness to weaknesses in the way PL works isn't a bad idea. There are probably a handful of "quirky" things that can trip players up that are worth pointing out.

Lol likewise

My anti-scamming guide: use common sense, if it seems too good to be true it probably is.
