<High Powered> guild introduction, rules, requirements, and how to join

Hey guys,

Just wanted to post a quick introduction here.

Who we are:

We are a large social guild with a mix of all types of players.

Guild master: Habekaoetasa
Officers: Jaqualina, Bellaelda, Kaukis, Kjalisi, Noobiam, Leanegib, Thor thunder, Catibriewolf, Iamimmortal, Smeex, and Ugrouhi (new officers are voted monthly and we look for active and helpful ppl lv 30+)
Recruiters: are lv 25+
Members: are lv 20+

Rules:

We like to help each other out and ask that all guildies are respectful and treat each other as such!
No scamming or ripping off guildies. Buying and selling in guild chat is cool, but not overpriced
We ask u to try to keep guild chat clean, there are kiddies that play here
We are lv 20+

What we do:

We like to farm together and help each other out.
We're a very chatty guild and tend to be pretty social with each other.
We hold contests and give aways quite often.

Good day to you. I'm Athenum and I'm the GM of the Commandos elite. I'm posting here today because of an incident that occurred yesterday May 14, 2013. I have been trying to each your GM in-game but unfortunately none of the people/guild members that I spoke to would direct me to you or have been very helpful.

One of your members, a mage whose name I will not disclose in public harassed and threatened one of my members. This person was verbally sexually abusing my guildie and threatened to hack her account if she ignored the person. I have not yet reported this to STS. As GMs, I would like to offer you the courtesy to talk to your guild member before any harsh action should be done. However, If I get no reply from anyone in your guild. I will provide STS with the details and screenshots of my guildies report. Personally, I believe that we don't have room in our small gaming community for players with behavior like this.

I believe that this is not the way that a member of such a large and upstanding guild should behave. I wish I had better news to write about in your guild thread, but unfortunately I don't. I do apologize about the unpleasantness but something has to be done.

to be frank, you should have reported them. If what you are saying is true, that type of abuse is really not acceptable in any walk of life. If it's true, it isn't up to you or the gm of high powered to handle it.

To aedenos you have a point, the mentioned player should be dealt with accordingly by mods but to clear things up the player is no longer a member of High Powered.

Unfortunately, what I said is all true.

I agree, that the player should be reported. However, these things take time. These things need to be investigated, logs checked before proper action by sts is taken as this is a serious offense. I feel that there is a structured, proper way to things. It was best to let Habe and the officers know that there was a player behaving irrationally in their guild before taking steps to report the person so they can talk to him or provide sanctions.

Let's say that the said player was a friend, wouldn't you appreciate it if he were allowed to explain himself before someone hit him/or her with a banhammer? If we could only get rid of grossly misbehaving players in one swoop, I would love to be there. But all of these things require process and jumping the gun isn't the proper way to handle this. Immediate action is satisfying but that would be retribution/vengance, not justice.

It is correct that it isn't up to me or Habe to handle this but, it is up to us to see that proper action and the first steps are taken.

@ Athenum i'm very sorry this had to happen in the first place. I agree... AL is a great game! And in my opinion AL has countless amazing people who all contribute to what it is. When something like this happens, it is a sad reminder that not all have the best intentions or end-game.
I am glad though it seems a appropriate measure was taken and relations between our guilds are perhaps now even stronger then before!

Hope to see (and run a map or two) with you and all the other like minded fellow AL players some day!

The issue was solved very quickly in that he has been removed from our guild - we have a policy about respecting other players and that goes for players both in the guild and in the game as you will see from the guild description :)

We are all here to have fun, make friends, party together, kill stuff, and have general good crack so lets get on with doing that!!
