How do we deal with m/s with new gear?

Hey guys

I just turned 50 and using some of the new gear.

Just put on a battleforge of destiny helmet (not sure of name), battle forge of destiny plate, scimitar of rift, and screaming skull shield.

I realized that it gives me 0 m/s and about 11 h/s.

I then looked up the more expensive gear, jacob/overlord of rift and power suit of rift, and it still gives 0 m/s.

Question is how do we deal with m/s with this new gear set up? It gets quite expensive spamming mana pots especially when dealing with a mob or boss when you have to spam your screams, debuffs, buffs, slashes.

Just curious how the more experienced warriors are dealing with it. :)

They use one thoth piece, usually in the head slot so they can hide it. My solution was the the chest and head slots should both give 3 ms. Kinda silly though.

Solution: find a lvl 50 Thoth mynas Helm before the update a few days ago! lmfao!

u have to use one lvl50 thoth piece,, which dont drop any more lol. but it helps me sooool much and helps me continually spam skills

Well, be fair--mana's pretty much all a Mage has. Mine's lvl. 48 and I hate to think what I've spent in mana pots just healing warriors and archers. My lvl 42 tank's been burning the mana pots, too, though. :(

Not a viable option for PVP. This gear needs to be adjusted. At least put 1 m/s in there!

I'm not sure those do not drop anymore. Thought I saw a "normal" drops from the mini-bosses Sniper, Lorekeeper, and Berserker. I am not positive it was them but I did see one.

Well why not put 16 points into intel, in the end does 16 stat points make THAT big of a difference anywhere else. the return for investment into intel is by far the best place to spend 16 points.

Agreed. The 16 intelligence is a must. It's kind of stupid though how the next upgrade to 2 m/s is at like 50 something? If I'm not mistaken

Defietlry gonna want to have a Thoth and maybe an Isis as well. I think this is very stupid, because it limits the new pinks we can use. Giving us 2 h/s and 0 m/s on super hard campaign. I don't think the devs really thought this through...

Some of the level 45 pinks you can get from AO have good m/s. Also, I think I was just playing in Haunted Manor with you SMOAE haha

I don't use a thoth peice in PvE. I just manage my skills as best I can. Don't have a problem with it like I thought I would. I'm not there for dps, I'm there to tank!

my equipment now:
Head: Overlord's Helmet of the Rift - 11str, 8crit, 2h/s, 32ac
Weapon: Limbchopper of Destiny - 115-135dmg, 1.0 speed, 8str, 3dog, 4hit, 1h/s, 6ac
Plate: Rageborn Plate of Destiny - 8str, 3dog, 4hit, 10health, 1h/s, 1damage, 74ac
Shield: Templar's Battleborn Shield - 8str, 2dog, 3hit, 2h/s, 30ac

i got a weapon Djinn Spear of Thoth which give me 6m/s but it was Lv45 weapon.....
any solution for the mana problem as i don't want to buy thousands of mana pots.....

There is no mana regen gear for level 50 Str other than a couple of Thoth items that don't drop any more. The best solution in terms of getting regen with minimal armor sacrifice is to use a level 45 Thoth buckler.

Comparing level 45 Thoth gear (50s are super rare and don't drop any more) to level 50 rift, here are the armor differences:
Overlord Rift Helm (higher armor than Jacobs) - Thoth helm = 22 armor
Rift Plate - Thoth Plate = 22 armor
Rift Shield - Thoth Buckler = 12 armor

The comparison was with level 45 Thoth gear stats. I'm pretty sure there is no level 50 buckler. The level 50 pharaoh shields have 5 more armor than the 45s, but the 45 bucklers have 4 more armor than the pharaoh shields, so the difference between a level 45 buckler and level 50 pharaoh shield is like 1 armor or something.

Gives u about 154 to 160 Armor (depending on your stat distribution), and 6 m/s. Good enough for semi-tanking / casting spells. If u need to spam spells, start quaffing some mana pots.

An alternate setup u can use if you cant get your hands on level 50 mynas thoth is,

Mynas Helm of Thoth (Level 45) - Its only 1 armor lesser than a Lvl 50
Power armor of Rift
Rift Weapon
Rift Shield

Still gives u around 150 to 160 armor.

Look, I'm telling you the level 45 Thoth Buckler is the best setup to work in 1 Thoth piece, even if you use the rare 50s.

Rift plate (87 armor), Rift helm (32 armor), Thoth Buckler lvl 45 (25 armor)
= 144 armor

Rift Plate (87 armor), Thoth helm lvl 50 (11 armor), Rift Shield (37 armor)
= 135 armor

Thoth plate lvl 50 (72 armor), Rift helm (32 armor), Rift Shield (37 armor)
= 141 armor

And that's considering the level 50 helm and plate ;)

And I think my paladin build is cheaper to obtain, considering the price of power rift armor being around 400k now, compared to a lvl 50 mynas plate of thoth around 100 ~ 200k. Things might change in the future as level 50 mynas thoth drops rarely and price will soar with demand.

Hey Orei - Lvl 50 Thoth,Isis, Osiris, and Horus no longer drop in A03. They did for a short period of time when A03 first came out, than the devs fixed that, perhaps do to complaining about reused gear. Anyway, this gear is now "extinct" and people do sell, just hard to find. You would think they would be crazy expensive but I have been able to buy lvl 50 Thoth or Isis armor for 50kish. IMO they should be selling for much much more than any new AO3 gear.
