Set second fav is Phantom set, its effect is stars, which I obviously like!

I always was drawn to rift sword and shield set, dont know why but have to buy it and keep it this time. I remeber when it was the most expesnive set back at 50 cap before shadow caves clocking in 350kish maybe 500k for set

LOL, same! When I was a newby, I saw someone using shivering talon which is clearly very cool on my opinion. I liked on how it looks like melting and that the talon is like a piece of sharp icicle. I used to chase that weapon when its still 20k plus when its about 5k now.

That was the Best Set bonus smoke I have most liked from this game, didn't it get removed when they added nuris prestigitator stuff? Man, they really messed up the Blue Smoke.

I remember when Waldo was Spamming in Cs "S) Phantom Xbow set 28m" lol, that's when the ocean diamonds were going for +1.5m each.

Yeah! I wish it was still an effective set to use. I miss having my 30 shivering Mage :)

Demonic xbow set. Always been my favorite set. After that I'd say custom and fortified. Remember all the fortified birds when glyph was like 20m+? These sets take skill to use and are not overpowered with dodge.

I still have a soft spot for my cyber set. I remember how hard I worked to finish those quests and how awesome I felt using it after all that work. And it looks cool too. I've done the quest on multiple characters now just to get them all. I hope STS one day recaptures the magic of the cyber quests so I can get that feeling again.

When L50 campaign was the highest cap release, shadow sets were worth about 1.5m a set (after they nerfed drop rates and some time passed). In these days, 1.5m was a lot considering very few people had even close to a gold cap.
Thus, as a way to entertain bored end-gamers & give an effective set for those who cannot afford shadow/AOIII sets, they released these sets. Also, back in those days, the shadow set bonus was not added until later.

The material value doesn't count,
What counts is the passion and the time you have invested to get these cyber sets. :)

Yeah, it's completely just a pride thing these days considering the time needed to get the set advances you high enough to get the next gear up. However, it is a guaranteed gear set (gotta be lucky to farm good drops) so it's a way to have something to work for if you enjoy such things.

They were released midway into the L50 campaign. You said that the purpose confused you, so I gave you the reason as to why they created them. 1000 days from that date, the purpose will still remain the same so your quote is non-applicable.
