who else has had my terrible luck

I've played since November android release and I have three toons who cap at each new expansion. I have opened hundreds of dollars worth of crates between the three and never won anything besides norm pinks. I played Pl and earned a blue dragon suit b4 the complete nerf of the "dragon gimmic" and demonic gear and full crafted sets at each cap on 3 toons and always earned not bought. Here it just isn't the same to be able to do some serious farming for elite chest because the whole elite system is just difficult with finding party or dieng and running all the way back to boss or gold etc. and the plat chest is really a heartbreaker for me. I've farmed both type chest and never anything and its getting harder to farm chest because most of my time is trying to get three toons capped before next cap on increasingly harder lvls which I have 1 left to cap and I haven't even killed all bosses on any toon because the effort to find a good team is too much and I'm trying to find a good guild to help with teaming up but everyone has the best guild and the ones I've tried are blah, bs, promises of the world and only delivers a pebble. I love this game and cant put it down I have a full time job, 56-64 hrs week, so I have to use plat sometimes to keep up but just saying I haven't got nearly the same time,effort/reward as in Pl and Im trying but was wondering if others are having the same or almost same terrible luck. I hate to vent like this and I'm not saying game is bad at all I love it but just looking at my inventory and plat used and how long I've played I'm really disappointed at the turn out and I got back to PL and look at it there I feel accomplished and like I have something valuable. If someone stole my AL account they would only make a couple hundred on cs sells maybe and that's really it. I would really like to constructive feedback good or bad as long as its constructive, it might make me see something I haven't seen yet, and ideas to make system better or guilds to cheak out or general tips for me and thank you STS community u guys are great.

Hrmm...where to start....

1) Leveling up to cap in AL is far easier than in PL. In PL you needed 100k xp to cap, and the best you could get in a single run maybe 100 xp, or 400 xp if you had a full thrasher elixir (which are lots of plat). In AL you have dungeons like WT4 and others that give you 400xp for a single run without an elixir, and 800+ with elixir, and you only needed 26k xp to cap at 31. If you spend a little plat, which it sounds like you do, you should be able to cap a toon in a few hours.

2) As for the issue of money, yes money is harder to obtain in AL. That much is clear. And Arcane items are far rarer than anything ever introduced in PL. I would basically forget about getting Arcane items. There are so few that even finding someone selling an Arcane weapon is luck in itself, and the price is going to be far more than 99.9% of players have. But Mythic are obtainable, and rarity is much like Dragon/Demonic gear was in PL. I think the problem is you are gambling. Some people get lucky, some people don't. It's just random. Random means you can open a thousand crates and never get anything good, and the next guy can open 1 crate and get an arcane weapon. That's just how it goes. I've opened about 70 crates in total since the beginning and never got a mythic or arcane item either.

3) I suggest you just think about ways to save up the gold. Instead of opening your chests/crates, sell them in the auction. If you want to spend plat, I suggest you do Elite Mines runs. There you can get elite chests which you can sell for nice amounts of gold. And if you do the daily quests for an Elite Gold Chest, then you get a free chest for every 4 Elite Mines runs (20 bosses). Just keep selling them and you will save up gold in no time. Make sure to add a luck elixir for your runs, and I'm sure you'll loot at least 1-2 Elite Gold Chests during those 4 runs, and then with the freebie, you'll have a nice amount of gold once you sell. Do that every few days and the gold will add up.

Yeah until the last couple of weeks i've had nothing but bad luck and didn't get much of anything from the elite chests, (well over 125 ) or crates nothing but raddiant and 1 k gold over and over again so i stopped opening them.

I would just sell the crates you can make a lot of gold very quickly or run the elite mines with a luck elixer and hope you get a gold chest or a pink like the noble mask of will.

Thank you for the replies. I've done a few of you guys suggestions and some I will try. I wont give up I have fun playing game just a little vent and was curious to others methods of obtaining loot that I haven't tried. I'm sure with patience I will eventually get something for the trophy case.

I actually took a short break from al due boredom and frustration at having no luck for monts, just started playing again around when the nordr maps released.

The loot system seems to be a lot worse than the other games in the series, it's either you get lucky or you have no luck for awhile.

It's even harder when you don't use platinum to often so doing the mines might not be possible for everyone.

Yeah the loot system is wacky on AL for real. I have had the worst luck imaginable with loot for months and today I suddenly got lucky. I know my luck will run out quickly and I'll hit another dry spell but at least this time around I got lucky.

Its really crazy how random this is. I haven't been farming crates or much of anything (except doing the nordr quests and lvling pets) for a while until today. I really wish the system didn't rely so heavily on luck elixirs.

I feel with you. Many of my Guild Members stopped playing AL or wanna stop it, because of this Drop System.

I said a while ago, STS would lose a lot of players, if they let it like it is....

This System do not work for a long time, because Players which are farming every Day and have no luck getting frustrated and leave the Game.......

But yea... last weekend an other big desillusion. Junks only, nothing worth.
Those locked crates are just plat eaters and gold sink.
Feels like the plat users are not getting anything unless you hyper over spend lol.

Makes me wonder what formulas they used for the crates im really curious. As you know its only encoding, programming. Not that I dont trust sts in adding factors in the formula but just to be clear.

Also im interested into how much crates have been open since its been on AL.

How many arcane/mythic stuffs have been obtained.

Those numbers and formulas are important facts for us players.

We are players btw NOT gamblers.

Play AL since its inception, I've spent 8300platt and it has never droped an arcane item or mythic item , when there are other players that he has had 6 times mythic and some arcane, luck is not well distributed in this game, I sincerely discourages me open many locked and golden elite and not drope anything ... The game is awesome, but if continuous in this line of play gamble, I believe that many players will miss,
I tell that because I waste a lot of hours in this game and didnt see any reward , I have 11350 AP but I can't compete with 250 AP u give with arcane item...
Sincerely I hope u change arcane and mythics items drop system,It really discourages.

Same here. Luck with lightning crits only, but not with opening crates or chests..

I didn't open as many as some of you but I was disappointed too. That is mainly because so many crates were open that the items coming from them are simply worthless.. you just cannot sell them even if they are not that bad (I got multiple of them - not for my class so they are useless).

I wish that STS could make a change that instead of one item slot in chest/crate there would be a random gold with average sum of 15k.

yup, agreed to the thread starter. i played a lot of MMORPG free or pay to play, event the most hardest loot base game like monster hunter frontier, but still i got the rares loots ever been looted on that game and got the coolest mix sets for the stats. but playing AL is a lot different its all about gambling to get useless items that you dont even use. i like the game but the loot and so called "luck" base system? nah... i dont even know the words to say it. its just a down fall for a MMO player like me........ or every one.

Every MMO is luck based. When you beat the boss, it is random what items drop to you. Some players get lucky and get a good item, and others get a bad item. If you run the boss a thousand times, some players still won't get a good item, and others will get a dozen good items.

It doesn't matter if the random factor is what you get by beating the boss, opening a chest, or opening a locked crate. It is all luck based.

The only way to eliminate the luck factor would be to make it so that beating each boss, or opening a chest/crate gives the same exact item to each player every time. Or you could make the game completely quest based. That could be ok for a while, but ultimately I think players would get very bored.

For example since the dead city released i've only had one legendary( noble mask of will lvl 31) world drop, 5+ which were all worthless from over 125+ elite chests mainly copper and silver, 2 egg world drops, all junk from crates.

You have just had bad luck then. If you take a look in the auction there are tons of items there for sale, which means they are dropping. If there was an actual real scarcity of items it would be apparent in the auction as there would be only very few for sale (or none at all).

Yes i know which is why i said bad luck streak in and earlier post.

Didn't say there was a scarcity of items just that it relies to much on luck and having most of the best stuff inside of chests, crates and having a reliance on platinum makes it harder to get something good.

But even if you use a ton of platinum or elixers it still might not help you much and makes it that much harder on non platinum users or those who rarely use any.

Sell your crates and chests. I'm not saying that you're doing this (crying) but there are a number of people who constantly cry poor and, yet, they drop elite chests and crates constantly. If they'd sell the chests and crates they'd be able to stop crying poor. I can't tell you how annoying it is to see people constantly complaining about being poor when I know they are poor because of their spending/chest opening habits (again, not saying you're doing this, just saying it's something I've observed and just had to roll my eyes).

I love to gamble IRL. But I don't go to the casinos often because I have other things I'd rather spend my money on. Same with this game. I don't open chests and crates often (once in awhile I'll pop a crate open, I NEVER open chests) but I have a workable amount of money--enough that when I have an old friend from PL come and join guild I can give some stuff, a pet or two and a little gold. Unless you're uber rich in game, sell your chests and crates. When the crates are priced low in the auction house, buy them and save them to list the next time STS does a special (like mythic weapons) and you can make some gold.

Then I've had bad luck since this game went worldwide(before that I was getting great drops) but since the only time I've got egg is a luck elixer from klaas or shaz. Elite golden chest same thing. Crates same thing. I finally gave up on chest after opening so many and not even one pink I started selling. All my items have come from Cs so I have to say again that sts needs to really redo the loot system. At least in other MMOs its yhe item drops from a certain boss, no crates, no chests etc. Look at pl, where do pinks come from? So why is it that only pinks that drop from bosses is in elite? A lot of people can't do elites due to time constraints or lack of gold.

I think that if the timers were removed from elites and we could join instances more similarly to PL it would help eliminate some of the issues with running elites and make people much happier.
