View Full Version : Can I uninstall Google Chrome??

Good morning everyone,

I have been having the same problems as others when trying to open Arcane Legends. It loads to 90%
or 92%, and that's it. Then a notice appears saying that the program is unresponsive and gives me the option
of either "Killing the page" or "Wait". When I "Kill the pages" a " snap" notice opens and tells me,
"SOME THING WENT WRONG WHILE DISPLAYING THIS WEBPAGE. TO CONTINUE RELOAD OR GO TO ANOTHER
PAGE".

As I understand it, Google Chrome has been updated, or something like that, and we need to get that version.
I'm not computer literate, so I don't really know what the problem is, that's why I say "..something like that".
What ever it is, I can't get on Arcane Legends and I would truly like to fix that.

I have read and reread the thread posted by GREENCROW on 05/25/2013 entitled "HOW TO PLAY AL IN CHROME AGAIN"
and have followed his directions to a tee. The 2 links he gives have resulted in failures also. I have been at
this for 4 hours now with no success. Needless to say, I am frustrated.

Now I am considering uninstalling Chrome and then re installing. Can I do this and solve the problem??
If so, will I still have my rogue, Dinella, and all the same stats, gold, skills, gear, etc, or, WILL I HAVE TO START
ALL OVER AGAIN, FROM SCRATCH???

If re installing will solve this issue, just exactly how do I go about that process of uninstalling and re installing??
I have a Toshiba laptop, running Windows Vista.

As a computer illiterate I say thanks in advance for any help, advice, or instruction you have to offer me.
I miss the game. I guess that it has become a little bit addictive. LOL

Thanks from Deke and his loyal rouge Dinella

Of course it will stay! :)

Just don't forget to note your account data (e-mail/PW) somewhere, although I'm not sure if uninstalling will really work since it's the same version of chrome then.
It's worth a try though, good luck!

I don't play on Chrome but if I would have your problem, I'd try installing an older version of Chrome, after completely uninstalling the newest one first.

Here's a link where you can find a lot of older Chrome versions...

Personally, I'd work my way down starting from the latest version until there's one that works properly.

Anyway, good luck!

You can also go to Computer > Local C Drive ( or whatever drive ur using ) > Program files > Google > Chrome and then u get a list and if its good there should be an item called Old chrome in there click that one and run Arcane Legends, it will work ! But u have to open old chrome every time u want to use AL.

I found my Chrome solution :

1) Uninstall your currently chrome version
2) Download this old chrome version http://www.oldapps.com/google_chrome.php?old_chrome=11812 and install it
3) Have fun playing back on Chrome ;)

Hope this will help :triumphant:

Don't worry this was and still is a frequently problem with all games last weeks, although in fact it's Chrome who brings up the problems, not STS.
The Devs are already looking into this.

From another thread:

Unfortunately, this is not a universal problem. It appears to be a system specific issue. The problem that causes Chrome to get stuck also isn't specific to just our game. If you try playing other Chrome Apps that use Native Client you will likely encounter the same problem. We are working with Google to help to address the issue, but at this time we don't have any further official suggestions than the ones outlined in this support article: http://support.spacetimestudios.com/...rticles/963855

or just
Check Greencrows guide (it works for all games) and the comments below (like on page 3):

from what i understood, you have to download an old chrome version (26 or 27 is it I think).

Yes. You need to install an older version. 26 is what you need. I found it at file hippo I believe

Try all the solutions they said. Just remember to turn off the auto update of chrome when you install its older version.

Make sure you download the 26.xxx.xxx version. I tried 2 different 27.xx versions and still had the loading issue. The 26.xxx worked great on the first attempt.

This site has all the versions:
http://www.oldapps.com/google_chrome.php

Note - you will need to uninstall the old version first.

To check what version you are running - go to "about chrome"
