My first blog, pvp balance, and other news

I've decided that the community doesn't like my input when I give it out so I decided to start blogging. That way the community can come to me if they want to.
Today (3/14/14) I've been thinking a lot about pvp balance. It seems to me that there are a few key levels where balance is noticeably struggling. At level 20 foxes and rhinos are thriving on plat packs. At levels 30-40 bears seem to stomp everything in sight with plat packs. Birds seem to do fairly well at these levels thanks to folks like Burningdex. (Shout out to him and his guide!) I mostly pvp at 51 and things there seem about as balanced as possible. Heck, even foxes and rhinos stand a good chance in many cases. Then of course there's end game and we all know what a state that is in.
Other issues which ultimately effect balance are all of these discontinued items needed for success. For example, I had a 32 bear that could beat just about every voodoo Mage out there. All it took was a reaper, bone shield, bone armor and helm. Hmm. I guess that's not an "all it took." What I'm saying is pvp used to be so cheap. I can remember long ago making a billion level 25 and 30 twinks because all it took was 20-30k to buy some shivering or about 100-150k for the level 25 sets. Now if I want to be satisfied with my twink, I've gotta spend about 1-2million.
Bearing all of these balance issues in mind, I started thinking to myself, "If I were a dev in charge of balancing pvp for all classes, what would I do?" It took me a minute but I think where I'd start wouldn't be with the characters. I think I'd start with rebalancing gear. There are so many worthless sets and items out there that no one uses anymore. An example of what I mean would be changing the stats on the iceberg hatchet (sword? Mace? I forgot what the heck it is lol) to match those on the reaper. I'd change the 25 wands to match 25 paws, etc. As for the Halloween armor, I'd make a new sort of armor (maybe starry armor, just not vanity?) that matches those stats and drops from literally every boss in game. That way items may be discontinued, but their stats are not. Just speaking purely in concepts here, but whatever...
It seems like it wouldn't take long to balance some of the main issues. Sometimes I wish a developer would let me in there to work on balancing, myself.
In other news, I've been working on a huge (and I mean HUGE) project for Pocket Legends. Ultimately it will be a gift for the devs (particularly the ones who have been around since PL launched) but I think you all in the community will enjoy it as well. It will take me a good while to finish, and I'm only currently about 15% done with it, but I think it will be cool.
Let's see, what else is new? Well, I've been doing my cyber quests (level 50) recently because I so want the talon set! I'm decking my character out to look like a green lantern or some crap and I really want sparkles! I already wasted about 200k on void talon set to find out that there is no set bonus! Epic fail, I know.
Oh, and one more thing! I've been a cardinal since the face was first invented. (I was actually there when it was. Pretty cool right?) recently I've been thinking about becoming a canary or a parakeet. I don't know which one to pick though! What do you guys think?
