Why does the warrior and rogue weaps come with ARMOR and mage doesn't?

It would make sense to remove the useless mana from the mage weapon and just replace it with armor. Mages do not need mana...

Aegis gets 6 sec proc with 50% damage mitigation and 2000% damage reflection
Staff gets 3 sec proc with 2000% damage reflection
Dag gets 5 sec proc with 50% damage reflection???
