All L.65 crafted sets blow all plat sets out of the water in therms of stats.
So, to answer your question.. No, plat sets are not better than crafted L.65 sets. In fact, they are way worse.
Even Vamp sets stats are much better than the Plat ones. Plat sets are junk.
