I prefer the potency one with elondorian gems. When I compare my potency/elondrian one with a brutality/glacial one each staff with a super gem and a normal one you lose 300 health for only 19 damage and 26 dps. I'd rather the 300 health over that little of damage especially when you have to get close to use the proc.
The fatality one is the worst of the 3 and shouldnt be used.
Potency is horrible lol. Brut is the best then fat
If a saw a super Tarlok gemmed brutality version (Int/Str) I'd buy that beast of a weapon...
Lol fatality doesn't offer anything good. If you want survivability use potency (it has the highest health of any legendary weapon for mage) if you want a little extra damage use brutality. You only gain 20 damage for 300 health tho so its Not a good trade off IMO.Quote:

Mag pot here. The trade for damage-> hp isn't great enough for me to use a brutality.
Neither is better, it depends on what your goals are. If you want to clear elites with high speed and don't care if you die a lot, then the fatality or brutality are best, but if you care very much about your KDR and don't mind taking your time, then potency is best.
Potency is good it your pt isn't good; Brut is good if your pt and you are good; Lol at fatality....
I do agree any mage weapon ending in brutality is the best of its kind thats a fact as price will reflect, however i was referring to the fact that as a mage i would take 300 hp>20 damage anytime that i elite which is the exact reason i use the myth ring for elites instead of the wild talisman or the archon or the elo ring.Quote:

Which in my opinion means i can be a much better asset to the party.
Back to the OP i choose guns for elite because I do not have to aim them and they allow you to stay further away from the group of mobs or the boss,also they provide much better skill damage compared to staffs. If you cannot afford the elondrian gnarled rifle i would highly recomend you try an expedition rifle. cheap and very effective.
You need hp as well as damage in elite. That's why use potency or brut.Quote:

Check the health loss and damage gain and see if it's worth the trade off. As you can see fatality loses almost 500 health for only 10 damage lol.
Just was wondering if anyone still thought fatality wasn't the worst after seeing the stats on all 3?
Yes fatality is the worst. DEX is the most useless stat for sorcerers. STR/INT is the way you want to go always. STR contributes to the strength of your shield and gives you the most health, and of course INT is your primary stat. DEX does nothing for you except gives you half as much health as STR while not contributing to the strength of your shield. So basically if you could the shield strength, 1 STR point gives you 17 health (10 health + 7 points on your shield) while 1 DEX point gives you 5 health. So 1 STR > 3 DEX.
So given that, any sorcerer gear that has DEX points and no STR is not very good.

Np obee. As a Mage I've learned it's a good idea to have 2 different sets, one for max damage and another for max defense. There are times when surviving is more important than the loss in damage. This is especially true when not using shield like I do.
Now I'm using mythic armor with expedition rifle of brutality for damage and Druid/magma of security with magma staff of potency for defense. Although I've been just using Druid recently.
To get max damage for a Mage you need dragon scale of will/fatality but damage and armor are alot lower than Druid/magma security sets. But you can hit 5k health with dragon scale and magma staff of potency so I've found it useful as well.
