It's an oversight - it's not meant to be "sneaky."
The change to his health and mitigation were published while he was unavailable.

Anyway, STS, if you are going to slow down farm time by buffing the new portal map, wouldn't it be fair to increase the gold drops then? Or, if that's not possible, maybe make the damage tame/fish elixirs stackable again?

The buff is understandable. Overpowered players were finishing hedo lair within 15-20 seconds (sometimes even less), but this hurts players already having difficulty with this portal. Now runs are taking 30-40 secs. I am guessing under geared players are taking 1+ minute.
It is better to do Rahab or Gauntlet now than the new portal. (Inb4 gold nerf)
