PvP and Awakes

Hey,

Recently I have been hearing that people want awakenings to be removed in order to revive PvP.

Is that really necessary? People need to spend their hard earned gold on something right?

Imagine having 999billion gold and being able to do nothing with it, awakenings for PvP is a good way to use all that gold, no?

I, as an endgame player, have nothing to do beside farming gold ( useless, since I have decent gears) or farm APs ( Boring and pointless for average player).

There are a lot of ways for players to earn gold but there is not much we can do with it. The only reason people wanna earn gold is to be competitive with it, at least for me cuz I am not the type of guy to flex in town with my stats.

I can't even get in the mood for farming or even playing the game, every time I login, I keep on thinking about what will I do with the gold that I am going to farm.

Tldr: we need to have something where we can actually use our gold besides earning more gold by investing our current gold xD

Vanitys? Gear?
Pvp is what kept the game alive for a long time, since awakening came out, (armor) being more specfic, the armor aspect completely ruined pvp IMO. It gave players too much damage reduction, because they can keep getting more and more. As a result it made some players un killable, especially on twinks and 46-63, even endgame. This made people bored, also LB waa removed, which gave peolle no reason to PvP.

I AM not saying disable awakening in PvP, beacuse that is unfair to those who invested in those items.

THE only way to recover from this is to add a new PvP mode, where there are no awakes, all classes have the same gear, or stats can be scaled some how, to balanced it out.
This PvP mode can be implemented as an LB, because it will 100% active because it is FAIR for everyone and fun.
I hope a dev reads this, to consider it as a future idea. If they inclined to imrpove their game, like it was back in 2014-2015.

Not bashing your post, it just had me "dying laughing"...... LOL...........

As much as even I love a spot of PVP at end game and its a little heartbreaking its died off nowadays (reasons being simply being people too broke or lazy) It isnt really the pvpers that have kept the game going... its the farmers...

An anyone that seems to go on about the "good ol days" either weren't really there for them or if they were being a little ignorant of the fact that it was toxic as hell.

The amount of harassment and bullying that went on in pvp was disgusting and embarrassing.

Since farming was emphasised more thankfully its seems its mostly died off and tho pvp maps have died off unless youre twinking (eww) Festerfang Outpost is a good lot of fun for a mess around which IMO was an amazing idea and if it could be implemented in other places and/or maybe get it so kills and deaths in the brawler ring count towards pvp kills etc would make it a whole lot more fun XD


Anyways as long as the game caters for farmers and ap/lb runners it will continue doing just as fine as it is now, the pvpers is more of a minority when looking at grand scheme of things id say why not just gear up and lets dance a little in tdm XD an if you don't have the gears then go out and earn it... the number of people that are complaining its too easy to get gold and so much of it we need to sink it should prove there is plenty of gold to be had if you just work a little for it and buy those end game gears an awakes etc and go ham!!

I understand that the game is revolving around farmers now, but what are farmers supposed to do once they have purchased their desired items?

Should they AFK in town and flex their stats? Perhaps flex their rare vanities?

Ever considered maybe helping people and carrying them in maps a little because.. it’s just nice to be nice sometimes and seeing as you’ve finished farming and you’ve got the gears would be easy enough to do surely ?

Maybe see about doing a fav map as quick as you can and set yourself a new goal to go from farming to getting onto lb.. and when you hit a wall can then work on communicating with others who have already done so and getting tips n hints from them.. because again you’ve farmed to the point you can afford to do this..

Could give a go at opening a guild of your own perhaps.. if you got the finance and the know how and a few friends that would help could do that and maybe leave yourself behind a legacy and rather than just a rich char flexing in towns...

And finally could go try pvp with all those gears and awakes you’ve now acquired from that farming.. and if more people were to do that we wouldn’t be having discussions about finding ways to revive pvp ^.^

Dude, did u even read my post. PVP did not die off because gear is to "expensive". The awakening aspect screwed pvp, due to the amount of armor people were getting, this made PvP boring and it made the gap bigger between the geared and undergeared bigger.
You are right farming is one of the best things, and yes it made the game going obviously, but after u farmed and you have the best gear, u have the choice to pvp right? So why not invest all ur gold and kill some players and enjoy ur self, but the awakening aspect screwed it up for them as it made the gap bigger between the geared and undergeared. To prove this is true.
Do u ever see noobs going in pvp???
The answer is no, because the gap is so big, and the geared players who have stacked armor awakenings have a massive advantage.

Good ideas, but no one shows up even when I wait in PvP zones for 15 min sadly.

I am part of a really good and helpful guild, and nowadays I mostly login to say hi.

I have tried helping new players, but it also gets boring since I have played all those map millions of times (I have quite a few lvl 71 char).

I am considering farming gold to hold mini events in forums and in-game

Its a very very easy fix. Remove the number value awakes such as 100 Armor 150 Health etc and replace them with % values only. These % values scale with u as u level anyway.

Also Armor killed low level PvP but was ok at endgame. Its the Ebon Aegis that killed endgame PvP

I think no awakes at all. It's far too many variables for STS to balance out. Look at AL history: They release a new weapon or pet, that was never tested in pvp by the devs and then when people point out that this item is unbalanced or broken, it takes 6 months before a fix comes around. Remember how long it took to fix breeze (when it was freezing people like a statue in pvp) or the lava sword that was released at the same time as the axe set (getting 4 kills at a time lol)? I haven't played since the release of awakes, so I can't comment on newer items that break pvp, but you get my point

Awakes ain't going anywhere I'd just let them talk they'll be here till the game ends
