I, and maybe others as well use it as much as Facebook, or maybe even more.
Probably there's a good reason why you won't announce on Facebook, and I for one hardly use a twitter account. It serves half the purpose, but I prefer Facebook more.
Plus, the incoming tweets on Twitter doesn't update itself on how many minutes has passed by since until you check out the page itself or login.
