A smaller font would definitely be appreciated for ingame notifications.
For example, while you're playing, other players invite you to other instances, the text effectively hides a big portion of the screen, making you lose concentration.
This is a big deal, especially if you're in the middle of a boss fight.
I have a big screen (4.3" - Desire HD), and I can't imagine what it's like on smaller screens.
