Yes, the stash is available to all the characters in your account.
There is no global chat channel, only those in the same town or same game can see your normal chat.
I should log in to check this, but, can you stash gold/platinum in your Stash? For transfer to your other characters?

Platnium can be used on anychar and yes gold can be stashed. As for a global chat, you hve a friends list to chat with people who are in a different towne or do; "/t personsname messege" withoit the ". Also i believe there is a how to ise the stadh guide in general discusion. If you hae quests ask
