CoC IOS 8.0 + only?

I haven't been very up to date with CoC and I checked today and saw it's out on the Appstore and I tried downloading it but it's only for IOS 8.0+. I still have IOS 7.1.2 and never bothered updating and won't update anytime soon. I guess rip me? :D

PS: I could play on pc but I heard this game won't be a pc game.

It does require 8.0+.
