Perhaps an auto-deselect when target reaches a certain linear distance? It seems my toon will try to shoot through an entire map in a helpless attempt to hit what he's locked on.

I noticed that and never posted anything bout it. I did find out though, that if u tap ur character the auto lock does go away.

P.s. LOL.
It hangs on to the target as long as you can see it more or less. I'll investigate and see if we wan't to change how target lock works.
