May be it's little bit early to say and there's already elite forgotten item or elite pumpkin item just nobody farmed or reported yet, because that's what could be powerful not the current pinks.

Probably we should not go by actual wording because if something has to be powerful then atleast it should be competitive with same level best items.

Why can't we have an elite with a summoning proc... that would be cool

Eh, we really need POWERFUL weapons, other than who cares for Halloween new items whearas we already have better items.
