Monster Bash: Drop opinions?

Just loaded up your 80 plat Shamrock thrash and after one hour access of 15 plat. 95 plat total..(I spend & play waay more, trust me). You bow out with a double tiki shank $9-11k.. :/.. Something isn't adding up.. I can run for hours on end and reroll to purples all day.. Btw, sts look at my spending in just the "last" week.. Yes, I'm upset. At certain times pinks rain, but mostly it seems they're turned off most of the day. I've played monster bash enough to see the difference. NO PINK majority of day, or a cheap non craftable to pacify us to keep playing. I've almost spent 7000 plat in 2 weeks to see very minute drops.. Getting aggrivating.. Also, why is there a vampire feast for plat, when MT fang has a free one? No pinks there either.. Why is there a mini nuri dungeon when there's a nuri funhouse? No pinks there either.. I understand there has to be a limit on the pink drops, or all will be AO prices, but if I want to toss a coin for a drop, I will just play the free Humania dungeons. What gives? This isn't from just a day or week of playing that I came to this conclusion.. Its been 3 weeks of nothing but Monster Bash.. I see $ going in.. Nothing coming out.. Like I said.. It has to be a scheduled drop or something.. For instance one early morning.. 4-5am early.. I saw 7 pinks drop.. after that, nothing all day.. nothing.. And after each update it seems the drops worsen.. As if being forced to play new dungeon.. I shouldn't have to play a dungeon investing REAL money, into a dungeon only for people with plat. To get nothing, like people without plat. Or play over & over & over until you realize.. H'm.. lets raise the drop %.. What's really going on?? Getting old real quick sts.. Others may stay in silence, but I've invested too much to do so.. Dark legends, h'm.. played 2 days.. Why? PLAT HOG! LOL! Now, if I'm wrong.. People voice your opinions..

It's random, you get lucky sometimes, not so lucky other times. If they raise the drop rates any more on Humania stuff the prices of the items are going to be like the alien oasis pinks, 1-2k each at best. The reason a Beach Bum Bow is valuable is because they rarely drop. You can't have it both ways. If they drop often, then expect the price to be very low, if they drop only once in a while, then the price will stay high.

Then why charge for a dungeon that's most likely to have same drop for free in devils coast? Out of countless runs, I've seen bow drop twice in bash.

Because STS realizes something many others don't: I call it the "Vegas Effect." Some people can go to Las Vegas and win a ton of money in a few days. This causes them to want to go back and spend more and more even though they lose more money than they spend.

When the Monster Bash was first introduced, pinks dropped like candy. STS has since lowered the rates, and told us they would, but only after they have you hooked. Because you were so successful before, it is hard for your brain to allow you to stop.

It all comes down to your ability to walk away.

I think Crim hit the nail on the head thats for sure. I always seem to miss those small windows when the drop rates get pumped up…its a rush when pinks are raining down.

When will they adjust the rates of the Nuris mini dungeon?

This is the point that caught my eye.
More work needs to be done to ensure drop rates are put out correctly in the first place, look at the Nuri's thing.. people were playing and nothing was dropping... turns out they didn't have the drops turned on.. I mean.. if I played a slot machine in Vegas for 6 hours and spent $100 id be pretty p'd off if they came up to me and said, oh oops we forgot to set that machine so it pays out money. Even if they refunded the plat for these players, they still lost time.

People like you are unhappy to have spent hours and $$$ for something that has been set up incorrectly, and fairly so.
I think a more consistent, but not more frequent drop system needs to be used. Like you say if you get 7 pinks drop in an hour then nothing it raises an issue.
Furthermore my opinion always has been that a "Legendary" item should be extremely rare. People do not understand that for some reason and wish to obtain every legendary item in the game as if it is somehow owed to them.
This however, is highly driven by the fact that most green ("rare" (yea right!)) and purple ("epic".haha) items are trash and don't contain any "sets" with bonuses or even half decent armour or damage.

Personally, I think the best way to show you're not happy with drop rates in paid dungeons, is to stop paying for them.

I'm saying this because I had exactly the same 'issue'. I had been running a lot of monster bash after the update, and didn't really get anything worthwhile out of it. My conclusion was simple, I decided to just not run there anymore.

The only reason they nerfed drop rates in monster bash, was to satisfy the non-plat spending players who were jelling 'unfair advantage'.

But yeah, it's as Crim already said.. The 'vegas effect' causes people to still run that place and, IMO, waste plat in hopes of getting a decent drop.

I can understand that STS nerfed the drop rates. The problem, as I see it, is that they nerfed it so much, that it doesn't justify the plat cost associated with it anymore. At least that's my opinion about it :)

I used to call it 'casino effect' and actually wanted to write about it, but 'Vegas effect' is much better :)

What I would like to add is that it is sad that such a wonderful co-op game can be reduced to some constant treasure hunt. I think the main idea is to have some fun, socialise a bit, then switch off the computer and do something else.

Maybe the game will end at some point, then what remains? The gold? lol. But if you take it easy, have fun, meet some people, then you can actually make some good friends. Not just people you casually play with, I mean like minded people. And this is something much more important than real life gold.

:/ I did 3 monster bash runs to try it out and saw 5 pinks drop...my first run got a ocean diamond and sold 1.1m lol

The only reason I do Monster Bash now is to get the 2 furballs for the diamond quest. Any pinks I get are an added bonus. But last weekend I decided to take a break from monster bash and instead did Sandbar runs, and I got 3 pinks: Islander Wand, Sun God Bow & Sun God Armor. This was in about 50 runs. So perhaps you should just try the regular campaign for a while. It's more fun anyway since you don't have to rush because of your elixer timer. You can just relax and enjoy the run.

Yeah farmed that place for like 3 gold caps. What made that place farmable was the diamonds and the overpriced pink when they 1st came out(mainly the OBD). Ones the OBD quest came out I said ones OBD hit below 333k il stop farming there. Also humanian pinks price dropped too so now its not worth farming. I dont think Sts did anything. Its just the prices of pinks went down. Those same 1 to 4 pinks you get every 1hr of farming no longer sell for what they did. You got to learn when to quit.

Ps you should know how crazy i farm. Since we farmed together sometimes. Now you will find me farming sand for Sun God Bow or if there enough people maybe mys. Humania sucked dry nothing more nothing less.

One more point is that the monster bash dungeon has never promised better drop rates.
It's more of a convenience to people farming, so that you don't have to beat off 200 enemies to get to a boss.
I think this was the original point of it.

I just think they need a person who is better at statistics, averages or what ever else is needed to make it fare and even...right now it is all about plat and the company making money. I also think they are putting new people who have never played the game before on pl. or interns... There are so many mistakes its crazy!!! The game does not flow.

Yep, it's a Business.

i think its better doing mystery bash than monster bash. no access fee and u kill more bosses in the same time and u have a chance to get elite stuff. especially for those wich uses a trasher elix in monster bash.
