I just want the vanity set bonus not able to be used in pvp. Too unfair. Imagine it wouldn't be hard to disable the set effect when in pvp games.

The point is the fact that people expected it to be limited time ONLY not like what Ardon said like the mcrib. And it's supposed to be an incentive to reach cap every update. I mean it sounds nice to do that for my com and engineer but still it will still feel like a slap in the face.
why? might as well say "oh let's disable the custom bonus it's not fair for other people". Sorry i'll have to disagree with u on that.
You don't pay credits for the Arbiters items. You do for customs. Not really comparable IMO. If you feel no one else should get the set, then that is your opinion. I just don't agree that it needs to be unobtainable for anyone else that is willing to put in the effort for it. Grinding is grinding no matter when it is done.
Not unfair at all. All you need to win PvP is skill. I was owned by a nekkid sparkling pwny while I had full Custom PlasmaTech. Unfair? Nope.Quote:

Don't Vanities, by their very definition, /not/ have any stat bonuses? If so then why should it matter?
Anyways I think the people that worked real hard to get the vanity sets should be able to use them. As for people saying it's "unfair", it's not unfair in PvP. It's typical that people try and have better things than the enemy. (i.e. Plasmatech vs. Custom Plasmatech) Plus if you really think that the vanity cap set will give such an "unfair" bonus just get it yourself.
Not exactly, the only reason a cap vanity was brought in was for the hardcore players that put enough income into the game, so casual players can play, and play for free. Take away the vanity aspect, (or allow other 'easier' ways to obtain these or look alikes), and no hardcore player will bother to even hit cap, which means alot less plat sales due to less enhancers.
So much has been sacrificed already to turn the game into a casual gamers top choice, but ask anyone that has put heart and soul into the game, every decision made has ruined a part of what we love'd about the game.
Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, just wanted to get that across.
I agree, Bod. These vanities are for more "elite" people who want to challange themselves even further. Having casual players complaigning is slightly funny because this vanity is for the elite. Also from all of the enhancers some people drink themselves drunk to make STS some good profit while keeping the customer happy and regretting the big money gap.
1. Sorry, they aren't ever going to become available again. :(
2. I agree with those saying that the bonus (when released) should not apply in PvP games.
Boy. I really think both of you are sorry people if you think people who were incapable of showing up on time because of meatspace issues are undeserving of additional work to get the shiny widget you're bragging about.
Someone lock this thread.
Undeserving? :confused:Quote:

Edit: While I apologize if my language is somewhat harsh, the sentiment remains. I can understand getting huffy if some plat-only gear got re-released as a simi-common drop for that level (since real money is involved) but to go berserk over something that got handed out just because you happened to be at x level at y time is just plain ridiculous, especially if releasing a quest to obtain the same is delayed for months (possibly even a year) after the fact so the entire set is made available.
Think of it less as 'neener neener I gots shiny thing and you can sit on a rock' and more 'hey I got this stuff months before you losers. Eat it.'
A bit ya. But that's what happens when you either sign up late or don get to the cap. Its an elite vanity. Because its only available for 1 time with a huge xp grind.
If i joined late. I would like to have one but whatever i messed out. Ill get the next.
The lvl caps aren't impossible so far. I've done all off them since numa with no enhancers.
These elite vanities are meant to show what you accomplished and how long youve been here.
Just my 2c.

If they joined the game after the cap was raised they should not be able to get the piece that was discontinued before they joined. If they joined the game and THEN the cap raises they have a chance at getting the new one. I'm sorry if I sounded snobbish to you. Everyone has a chance to get this vanity, but everyone's schedule is different. I like how you want everyone to be able to have such a thing, but regarding to the OP, it's best said cold. Gone forever.Quote:

We're not trying to be inconsiderate or elitist. Many games have discontinued items in them. If anybody could do the extra xp grind whenever, it would no longer be a discontinued vanity. Plat elixirs make the grind easy, and without the "discontinued" factor, they're nothing special. :)
