Hey everyone!
I merged all of the world cup threads into one. Any predictions for tomorrow's games?
1) Netherlands will beat Australia as long as they play as they did against Spain.
2) Spain will beat Chile. I think some teams just need to get in the groove and it takes a game for them to wake up.
3) Croatia will beat Cameroon as long as their goalie doesn't give up easy goals like he did against Brazil.
I was with a bunch of friends watching the US game against Ghana. Landon Donovan who was rejected as a forward for the US team (he is old but he was eligible to play this year - he is the leading goal scorer for US and Dempsey is stepping in to fill some big shoes) predicted a 2-1 victory for US. Needless to say, he was right. The second goal that the US got off the corner was awesome... I even said to my friend "10 bucks US scores right here on this corner"... I got my money ;)
Can't wait for sunday with US and Portugal. Going to be a really interesting game.
I hope England do well, very inexperienced team. There's 6 Liverpool players, Gerrard, Henderson, Lambert, Johnson, Sterling, Sturridge and maybe 6 if Lallana transfer goes through. I'm a LFC fan :)
The loss against Italy hurt. Roy's tactics where wrong, played two deep mids and put Rooney as a winger ??? Out-and-out strikers do not make good wingers. BTW Andrea Pirlo is class!
Uruguay match is important, totally surprised they lost against Costa Rica, 2 members of my guild are Uruguayan so there's a lot of banter happening within guild.
P.S Rooney needs to be dropped but it won't happen - player power.
I predict that the majority of Americans won't watch a single game
