50+ Locked Crates

What's the rate on getting something worthwhile in these dam things? 1k gold, crappy epic, crappy epic and legendary worth less than 1k every time and I just opened over 50 of them.

So much platinum wasted for no reward, all risk and no reward... I think I'll go bet all my paychecks at the casino, will have more probability of a win haha.

But seriously, Arcane Legends is a bit of a profiteering game to keep their platinum being bought at a regular pace, maybe in return they could up rates of items and allow us to pay for some services with gold?

Just a thought.

its a risk youre willing to take when you gamble, if you dont like it dont gamble?

threads like this come up everytime someone is raging but i always agree with the raging players, to some extent.

i think the fact that you can simply buy gold with plat is what messed up the market and prices going insane, like a country printing money more than theyre actually worth so each (dollar) is worth less.

I would have to agree with Matanofx. Plat should not be exchangeable for gold. Its creating unnecessary inflation in the game.

Only gamble with money your willing to lose.

I have essentially quite playing AL for this very reason. The drop rates are so ridiculously low that I have found the game to be extremely tedious and boring. I have spent my fair share of cash gambling and losing that I moved on to other games, I check boards every now and then, come in game once in awhile but lose interest quickly and exit. The games drop rates are designed for people with almost limitless time to play and not for someone like me.

You stopped playing because you had bad luck gambling?

Don't go to a casino then....hate to see how you would react when loosing money there. I have to say though al has become quite tedious and I've quit for awhile (back to pl). Might play again next cap but I don't see much changing. If the rewards for grinding/farming was better for drops then I'll defiantly play again. IMO playing a elite map for 10-20mins a run for a couple hours and only getting chests, crates, or a few pinks is senseless. Youre.not rewarded really for that work only a chest and.then a chance to gamble on opening it. Even the best gear isn't obtainable by farming, its by taking chances on chests or spending a lot of plat.

Ok guys try retreading. I quit because I don't have limitless time to play a game that has intentionally horrible drop rates. And because I became board with farming. I gambled with plat and lost, i accept that. I farmed and got elite chest but got bored

I don't know how many times I have to explain simple economics, but here it goes again....

If they increase the drop rates, then the prices of those items will drop in value. They could make it so that you get a mythic in every 20 crates, but then mythics will cost 5k each and you will complain about that as well. In case you haven't noticed, the stats on those "crappy" legendary items are pretty good. The reason the prices are so low is that the items are too common.

The reason prices are high on some items are not because they are mythic, arcane, legendary, etc. It is also not because of their stats. It is because they are rare. Any increase in the supply will result in the price falling. And supply vs. demand economics is not linear. That means if you double the supply (i.e. make them twice as common), the price may drop by 90%.

If you follow world economics, OPEC will increase oil production by a half of a percent, and the result will be that gasoline prices fall by 20%. This is a balancing act that STS has to do with regard to item rarity. Any increase in drop rate could have very bad consequences for the AL economy. I don't know about you guys, but I like the fact that there are very expensive items.

To the person that said the game is becoming boring because the drop rate is so low, how boring would it be if the drop rate was high but there was no item that existed with a value higher than 5k? Would it be fun then?

I bet you'll have to explain this again in the next week, might wanna copy/paste that somewhere just in case.

Would you prefer if the drop rate were high, but no items existed that were worth more than 5k? Would that be more fun?

only 50+ crates? i open almost a thousand already..lol

opening crates is worse than gambling IMO. why? Because you don't even know the odd of getting the mythic/arcane items that you want.

If you are gambling in a casino, at least you know the odds of the games that you play (or at least you can look it up if you don't know).

If you know the odd of getting an arcane weapon from crates is worse than winning the lottery, would you open any crates?

Moreover, there is no way to increase your odd of success unlike lottery. In lottery, you can at least buy more tickets to increase your odd, but you can't increase your odd of getting an arcane weapon when you open a crate, since each crate is independent from each other; it's like you are limited to buy 1 ticket for each lottery event.

Anyway, if you like the game and want to support STS, continue to open those crates, but you should dial down your expectation a little from these crates.

Who said anything about increased drop rates? I said switch out elite pinks for mythics and arcane, KEEP THE RARITY. Rather farm for hours and hours knowing I might get a mythic with the best stats then a pink that is earned and is only good if you don't take chances/loose money on a chest to try to loot a mythic

its not gamble..its just about pay to win o.O

In terms of odds, getting an elite gold chest and opening it is the same as if the items actually fell from the boss. You're just having a problem with the concept of the chest since it is tempting to sell it instead of opening it. I actually prefer this since it gives you a safer option where you can just farm for chests and sell them. But in terms of odds, nothing is different. Your suggestion would not change anything except appearance. The items would still be just as rare and would cost just as much and would be just as hard to get.

In season 1 we weren't allowed to sell Elite Chests since they were non-tradeable. And I do have to admit it was fun opening them when I got them and hoping for a pink. There was no gamble then since I had no choice in the matter. It would have been no different than if those 3 items had dropped from the boss each time.

Now you actually have a choice, which is technically better. But the choice is what bothers you. You just don't like having the slot machine sitting in front of you. Have some self control. Just because it's there doesn't mean you have to play it.

they should.. why give us epics? they should give rewards just like in crates or like lesser.. farming elite gold is harder than they thought especially to non-plat users.

farming elite seas or harbor in season 3 wasnt easy and u sometime died but it was doable and fairly fun without spending alot of gold/plat

with the increase of mythic items available, farming elite nordr is EXTREMLY hard unless you own mythic items, i mean pinks are just not enough if you want farming to be fun.

i cant argue with people about "fun".. some may find 20-30 mins of dying and respawn, killing mobs very slowly, using tons of pots to survive challenging and fun but i dont and i know many others agree.

i know its getting a lil off topic but i think elite farming should be easier with only legendary gear not just cause most people dont have mythics but also cause many people dont have the time a day to play so much.

the real balance here is not in game itself, but balancing your real life time. i quit smoking just to buy plats. play around 3-4hours a day(not continuously) because i need to balance my time work, rest and game time in AL .

The only thing lacking about the game is the server is too young, items will be 100% ignored after patch and so on(except for twinks pvp)... since there is no upgrade in items/lvl up items it will eventually become... useless then you get bored and the last thing you will do is just quit. the only thing that worth in this game is.. your guild! (priceless)strong or not, with mythic/arcane or legendary items, low lvl or max lvl cap it doesnt matter aslong as you enjoy playing the game with your friends.

well, at the topic starter im on your side, but im sure devs has a good reason why its has a low rate of getting rare items and im thinking because once you get it, it will be forever will be on the game(unless you sell it on your inventory lol)

Nah. Legendary gear is just fine. Even L30 gear. The real problem is there aren't enough people playing (thus fewer good players). And we have a party system that is really limiting the potential of this game.

I'm sure everyone see it. Try to run a pug sometime. See how long it takes to get a map going. Why does nobody play? Because they don't want to spend 30 minutes finding a party. And they sure as heck aren't going to sit waiting while their elixir counts down.

I really can't understand why there isn't more outcry about this. Just look at the state of elite.

On the other hand. Go run some normal maps. Especially Jarl. Takes about 15 seconds for the map to fill up.

If you can't afford a certain piece of equipment for a job (like a backhoe for landscape gardening) there's a very high chance someone will have that piece of equipment for hire at a fraction of what it costs to own - maybe STS could have an in-game equipment hire for X plat per day/week?
