I met him today!

I have heard rumor about a mini-boss at the final map (elite) which drops archon rings but I have never met one before today.

Today I met him finally! I now post a SS of him in case you haven't met him. He is very weak compared with elite mobs. We killed him within 10 hits. At the end, one of my guildies looted an archon ring of potency!

what?! he's in non elite maps too? If so, does the non-elite version drop rings too?

Ive seen them spawn in normal, I got two in one map once (the little green whelp and the il'loran). Although i don't think they drop anything else but teeth in normals...

Belru is the whelp mini boss. Not sure what loot they can drop. I've never met the serpeant/salamander boss. If there is one then there would be 3 different types mini bosses in Rockhorn. Also I encountered a komodo boss named belus or delus. So really I suppose there are more than 3.

Yes but I don't know about what loot he drops. He didn't drop anything when I ran into him.

I think the elite zone mini bosses probably have the same chance to drop archon as other elite mobs. Certainly they are not the only ones who drop rings, because I got one from a regular elite mob there.

The normal map versions can drop teeth, but I have no idea what else.

The mini-boss has a much higher droprate, although the mobs definitely still drop rings as well. Myself and another team member both got an archon from miniboss at same time once. Oddly the very next map he spawned again, and another archon dropped.

Nope, it was not in elite. As you can see, there are not timers in the 3 pics. In the first pic, someone in pt looted a golden dragonscale chest. In other pics, i don't remember. :-))

Enlightment time; if you want to look for the bosses, look for five-mob clusters of the same type. They form a circle/square around one in the middle (aka the boss). I'm bored so I'll get the precise names down. :)

No wonder why I reseted last map hundreds of times (timer started) but cant find them in the first mobs O_o

So basically I can run all the way there and not have to kill anything and it if there is some mob around it I would know it will spawn? So I can leave and join and do that til I find? Am I correct?

the answer is:

they spawn both in elite as well as normal but the fact is

normal>> no archons
elite>> CHANCE at archons with lucks and lepres :D
