Both my armor and wand shot through the roof.
Mamboza's Voodoo Fire Pin went from "53-67 Damage, 2.1 Speed, 5 M/s" to "60-74 Damage, 2.1 Speed, 7 Int, 2% Crit, 5 M/s"
and my Mamboza's Croc Scale Robe from "5 M/s, 38 Armor" to "7 Int, 2% Crit, 5 M/s, 38 Armor"

So I have this Conqueror's Swampy Trident:

And I've been thinking, "Man, this looks cool, but its stats are TEH SUX0R!" So I have stuck with my Frosty Hatchet of Legend for the oh-so-useful freeze ability. But the latest patch made me think I might try it.
So I took my trident out to the King's Forest for a little bit of field testing:

See those blue stars as I'm making a black knight into a kebab? Those are the same blue stars that I see when my Archer alt uses Break Armour. But Epimetheus is a Warrior! He doesn't have that skill, and he's never made blue stars before.....
My hypothesis: The Conqueror's Swampy Trident has the same armour-breaking ability that the Devs gave to the blackmetal two-handers. I don't know if it's part of a recent patch, or perhaps the trident has always had that ability. (I never tried it before.) Can anyone else confirm or deny?
If tridents can break armour, then they're starting to look a lot more interesting!
Trident weapons got a big fat DPS boost today. This change should be pushed out to the Live game servers later this afternoon.
Tridents have always had a chance of applying a secondary "break armor" de-buff on your target... but since they've offered such lousy DPS up to this point, I doubt anyone has noticed :)

Almost all weapons have a proc of some sort. Pretty neato if you ask me - helps diversify characters even if they have same skills, spec, etc...

How will it not be worth it? the tridents are meant to be held with a shield meaning you will get more stats, and a higher armor. You can't have the DPS of a 2hander while holding a shield. If the tridents were a 2hander I could see 80+ dps, but currently our best one hander is flaming sword of legend, which gives me around 70 dps I think. It might be less though.Quote:

The shiv requires dexterity, a DPS stat. The tridents require Strength, a tanking stat. Two different classes. If you want to have ok DPS with greater armor and health go with strength, or if you want Higher DPS and crit go with dex. You cannot have the best of both worlds. If that were the case then why would anyone ever go with anything but str for anything but magic?Quote:
