I'm pretty sure that with the level cap raised getting the class vanity helm is a no-go, but I gotta ask. Is it possible to get once reaching the current cap or is it lost forever?

Gone forever.
Thought so. Hope they end up making a way to get pieces missed out. Like making it a craftable that you can only do when you're at the current cap or maybe at the level the piece came out for.
Or even a plat only thing. Seriously. If the 'each set has a coolnes budget we can't go over' idea is how things are it'd suck to miss out on the item that's the WOW part of the set.
here is my suggestions take a look.

I'd actually made a suggestion before involving past-cap vanities and crafting, but nobody responded so I thought maybe there was already a way to do it in-game.
Check the DOTD

If they bring it back that would be a big slap in the face for those who actually did the cap each update just imagine the time and money they've spent trying to do it (the exp is ALOT more, some spent plats doing it, some people did it when endless hours of grinding). If they find out that they can just wait it out till the end and craft it that's just unfair for them.

I'm not sure what the difference would be in having spent the plat grinding then. And doing the same grinding now. The same amount of effort and plat would be spent. What about the people who only started playing when Voleria came out? Those of us discussing a way to pick up past Elite cap items are not trying to take away from what others did. We would just like the opportunity to achieve this feet ourselves. In a manner that would not take away from the effort put in by those who already have the helmet.
I'm sure once the full set is out they will find a way for people to pick up old elite cap items. And if they don't...
I suggest we all form a posse and RAGE QUIT!!! :hopelessness:
I joke.
I'm sure there's gonna be alot of people who quit if they do release old lvl cap vanities its a slap in the face.
I'm srs.
I get where you're coming from. But its like wanting to buy a limited edition item after its done being produced.
If this were to happen I'd take quitting into consideration.

Except at the time of the cap even if I'd gone with enhancers there would've been no realistic way of getting cap with the time I've had and the stuff going on in meatspace. I"m not asking for 'hey here you go with stuff people had to work hard for we're just handing it to you.' I'm talking about a way that other people could get past items. Even if it's a set of quests for each bit that are only going to be made available after the whole set has been released (whenever that is.)
Something hard, and something plat spenders would get a slightly less hard time about doing due to leveraging the vending machines of buffness.
Unfortunately it will likely be gone forever... Which is a shame, because like the CoP it's the coolest vanity. I started playing too late in both games to get either, and at 35 I was anxious for the new campaign and vanity... Then I met Riley. On the bright side, we did get the sweetest campaign ever. :)
So my idea would be to have to grind out 49,810 xp IN ADDITION to the current cap to get that last piece. So once you're 41, you would be truly hardcore by grinding that much during one cap... And still get the vanity.
It's also true there will probably be a second vanity set in a while, since I doubt they'll have vanity boots and arms in SL...
I know where yur coming from but there's also about the fact that people worked hard getting them (seeing as exp is x3 when it comes to lvl cap). There's also the devs "promising" that you'll never get them again..*cough* Chrome Jetpacks/Silver jetpack *cough*
Though...i'll agree to this only if the plat that will them to get it is around 1k....each. Since people are willing to get RIVETs for 500, maybe they'll get them too.
Just throwing my two cents out there
With limited edition items there is always a point where they return with some sort of variation. I'm going to try and pick up the rest of the elite cap items.Quote:

Well before any of us make assumptions about what STS will do. I suggest we just plug away and get the items we can now. Everyone knows that they do take community feed back into consideration. So who knows. Lets just try to keep the debate civil.
And Ardon. You can't quit. You are the creator of the most valuable item in the game. If you quit. Rivet would be so so lonely.
good thing i got 2 Arbiter's helm and armor for OP one for my main and the other for my uncreated character later on :)
I for one think they won't bring them back IF (and thats a big if) they do i think they'll only do the set but not the set stat bonus
Yeah, this is all just "ifs" and "thens". Nothing real serious.
I hihgly doubt that they'll release the lvl cap vanities at a later point or even release slightly different ones.
haha I'm no leaving anytime soon bro. I'm addicted haha
If you go to menu > options there is a choice " disable xp gain ". Why not make an " enable vanity xp gain " where all xp gains go to the 49k needed for helm. That way you have to grind for it like everyone else did instead of purchasing with plat.
I just want the vanity set bonus not able to be used in pvp. Too unfair. Imagine it wouldn't be hard to disable the set effect when in pvp games.
The point is the fact that people expected it to be limited time ONLY not like what Ardon said like the mcrib. And it's supposed to be an incentive to reach cap every update. I mean it sounds nice to do that for my com and engineer but still it will still feel like a slap in the face.
why? might as well say "oh let's disable the custom bonus it's not fair for other people". Sorry i'll have to disagree with u on that.
You don't pay credits for the Arbiters items. You do for customs. Not really comparable IMO. If you feel no one else should get the set, then that is your opinion. I just don't agree that it needs to be unobtainable for anyone else that is willing to put in the effort for it. Grinding is grinding no matter when it is done.
Not unfair at all. All you need to win PvP is skill. I was owned by a nekkid sparkling pwny while I had full Custom PlasmaTech. Unfair? Nope.Quote:

Don't Vanities, by their very definition, /not/ have any stat bonuses? If so then why should it matter?
Anyways I think the people that worked real hard to get the vanity sets should be able to use them. As for people saying it's "unfair", it's not unfair in PvP. It's typical that people try and have better things than the enemy. (i.e. Plasmatech vs. Custom Plasmatech) Plus if you really think that the vanity cap set will give such an "unfair" bonus just get it yourself.
Not exactly, the only reason a cap vanity was brought in was for the hardcore players that put enough income into the game, so casual players can play, and play for free. Take away the vanity aspect, (or allow other 'easier' ways to obtain these or look alikes), and no hardcore player will bother to even hit cap, which means alot less plat sales due to less enhancers.
So much has been sacrificed already to turn the game into a casual gamers top choice, but ask anyone that has put heart and soul into the game, every decision made has ruined a part of what we love'd about the game.
Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, just wanted to get that across.
I agree, Bod. These vanities are for more "elite" people who want to challange themselves even further. Having casual players complaigning is slightly funny because this vanity is for the elite. Also from all of the enhancers some people drink themselves drunk to make STS some good profit while keeping the customer happy and regretting the big money gap.
1. Sorry, they aren't ever going to become available again. :(
2. I agree with those saying that the bonus (when released) should not apply in PvP games.
Boy. I really think both of you are sorry people if you think people who were incapable of showing up on time because of meatspace issues are undeserving of additional work to get the shiny widget you're bragging about.
Someone lock this thread.
Undeserving? :confused:Quote:

Edit: While I apologize if my language is somewhat harsh, the sentiment remains. I can understand getting huffy if some plat-only gear got re-released as a simi-common drop for that level (since real money is involved) but to go berserk over something that got handed out just because you happened to be at x level at y time is just plain ridiculous, especially if releasing a quest to obtain the same is delayed for months (possibly even a year) after the fact so the entire set is made available.
Think of it less as 'neener neener I gots shiny thing and you can sit on a rock' and more 'hey I got this stuff months before you losers. Eat it.'
A bit ya. But that's what happens when you either sign up late or don get to the cap. Its an elite vanity. Because its only available for 1 time with a huge xp grind.
If i joined late. I would like to have one but whatever i messed out. Ill get the next.
The lvl caps aren't impossible so far. I've done all off them since numa with no enhancers.
These elite vanities are meant to show what you accomplished and how long youve been here.
Just my 2c.

If they joined the game after the cap was raised they should not be able to get the piece that was discontinued before they joined. If they joined the game and THEN the cap raises they have a chance at getting the new one. I'm sorry if I sounded snobbish to you. Everyone has a chance to get this vanity, but everyone's schedule is different. I like how you want everyone to be able to have such a thing, but regarding to the OP, it's best said cold. Gone forever.Quote:

We're not trying to be inconsiderate or elitist. Many games have discontinued items in them. If anybody could do the extra xp grind whenever, it would no longer be a discontinued vanity. Plat elixirs make the grind easy, and without the "discontinued" factor, they're nothing special. :)
