-1 this so uncessesary we have discord right?
Whoever wants this feature can use discord... And that seems better.. - 1 from me. There are another 100 things more important to be implimented 1st atleast.

Sts could never implement something as optimized, and as flexible as discord.
Not to mention, the buttons and fidgeting, like theres literally no where else to add those on top of the other hundreds of things you could press on the crowded screen.

-1 more features about of game but not this

That sounds like an imposed limiting belief and a bold claim of what can be done. Even if it won't get as good as discord does not mean it should not be introduced and improved along the way.
I see it as a cool feature where players can talk to each other. So +1
+11111
we can do karaoke singing while running maps... cool
As much as I would love to lean on your side, I don't think the recent update on watchers feature was one of the 100 things you talked about but it got implemented anyway.
I think sts understood that Expansion is about seeing something new that players would want. It does not matter which is "more important" so long as sts implements them in sequence of preference not "subjective importance" and if I guess correctly it is whichever will bring them more plat revenue.
Mic open: Bad words (TT,voice chat warrior) joined the voice chat.We dont need policy rules n regulations when voice chat impliment.
If it was to be added they need a option to turn it off cuz I’m not tryna hear some people’s family in the back screaming
Since Ingame VOIP's has always had a very bad reputation for interfering with the games latency, and not as optomized. Expect your device to heat up often and quickly, as well as to experience lower fps ranges due to the game using more data packets.
So, for what purpose does STS need to develop this with time, and funds for?
When they acknowledge that an already existing app, funded by millions in research and development is in our reach, free to use?
Even multi-million companies like PUBG and ML can't develop something as extensive as Discord. Hence why the majority still prefer discord over ingame VOIP's as we speak.
To sum it up, an addition of an Ingame VOIP would cause more harm than good.

-1 discord exists.
For fun? Since its a game after all?
Still, agree with you about what's the point of it to some extent. For a fair analogy, I don't really see the purpose of the watchers feature too other than it being fun and adds some colors to the social feature, but well guess what?
They did it anyway.
To answer your questions:
1. Mic is a feature of the game not what this game is all about. This game doesn't need to become the next Facebook or WhatsApp or tiktok or Weechat or Discord. Those are specialised industry in the social media realm.
So far the games I played some have the chat/video chat function some don't. To give an actual example, in games like marvel super war/mobile legends etc, they have their own in-game mic I have myself used them and have also used discord voice chat before. It just applies to whichever is more convenient. As not everyone who plays AL has a 3rd party app installed like discord or is even aware of its existence.
2. Talking about preferences. Are you sure the majority prefers discord? Do you mean those who already know that it even exists in the first place? People who don't know such 3rd party apps exists would never have access to this voice feature let alone have a preference to choose from.
Not just that, there are people like myself who would prefer selling stuff in game through the in-game chat system instead of going to forum chat. Tbh, I didn't even knew arcane legends forum existed after playing for a few years (which I believe many still don't know it exists too) until I stumbled upon it in 2020 and it took me a while to create the account as I was mainly just reading forum without feeling the need to post anything. So Same thing here to voice chat, people may prefer in game voice versus a 3rd party app voice chat which god knows how to use/let alone creating an account for, when they are just here to play the game.
3. In my personal experience with in game voice chat, I had never encountered any delay issues before, it works well in marvel super war almost every time. Plus I won't think its a very difficult feature to add to a game just like the watchers feature.
imagining someone berating you while running on maps
If you're still skeptical then look it up, look at the endless discussions around it, the reasoning how it affects the games latency, the reasoning how poorly optimized in-game VOIP's are, resulting to reduced FPS ranges and increased battery usage. Here are some of plenty examples:

Question to Devs, would they invest the funds(alot more costly than you'd think) and time(alot more complicated than you'd think) knowing these risks stated above? Knowing that Discord exist? Heck even Cinco is in the Discord group chat.
Really, lets be real, you'd expect players to come across AL but wouldn't know what Discord is? This is, incomparable with your faulty "ingame chat vs Forums" analogy. The forums is nowhere near, and globally renowned like Discord.
That said, yes, Its more likely, by a big margin, that players who were able to come across a relatively small random game like AL to know what Discord is, than the other way around. So that cancels that, case and point, take care.

+1 as long as this only works while being in a party.
There are things al doesn't need and a voice chat is one of them. U would like to sell ur stuff in a voice chat in pve maps? Gl with that. Most of the players, including me, would just mute that because it's hella annoying. So the few people who actually want that can use a 3rd party app. And since you already know discord you can just ask ur friends who u wanna talk to that don't know discord, to download it.
yea -1
This ain't "AL GOT TALENT" and I'm not ready to be Simon Cowell
I dont want to be in a party where people are just cussing each other out and or being possibly racist. Knowing how toxic people can get in video games and sts wont be able to moderate voice chat that well -1
-1111 no thank you
Wow that would be noice! [emoji3064]

its seems to be a good idea though especially while playing honor pvp. XDD
Holy hell, ppl have voice enabled on a device that can already track your every move and now you want to keep a constantly open mike on you that can sell and store data without you knowing?!
I’m putting on a second tinfoil hat and three facemasks
