It's in the stronghold, go left from uller's statue , you'll see an entrance close to king Erik and talk to Ture. he'll give you the questQuote:

Do I have to do all the Nordr quests to get the gleipnir quest?
I did most of them and I killed Grimnr but still didnt get the quest. King Erik still has not given me the quest: Permafrost.
I have not done Carry The Torch yet, but I think Ive done everything else available to me.
Any ideas?
My prediction: You will need it to open that locked gate in paradise pier that leads to the sorcerer homeland in the next expansion. :)

I have a question for this in the concern of exploring at the dragons jewel. It says I cannot explore and to come back with the power of gleipnir, but now even with the amulet I still can't explore. What have I missed? ( btw I was able to explore before expansion , but I've also seen people with this problem before expansion. Not sure what's up.)
i believe its a different gleipnir. the one from dragon jewel is you must defeat bloodhammer at skull cove.Quote:

There's no greater significance to it. It's a reward for creating a nordr quest, and you have to obtain it before entering certain kraken maps as well. But it isn't actually used for anything itselfQuote:

There are two amulets - Gleipnir from quest in Stronghold and the other the Carnelian Amulet of the Tides, i still have both in my Inventory since it's not saleable.. ;) I forgot how I get it, it was long time ago LOL
That amulet is from the kraken expansion you get it after the blood hammer quest I think
Gleipnir is obtained from Grimnir's boss quest in Nordr. After killing Grimnir, go behind the portal that leads to Kelyz, you'll find a tomb and an altar. I beleive that you had to read the altar, then check the tomb. You'll obtain Gleipnir. I strongly believe that the "locked gates" is the portal to Kelys, but Hos is the one who opened it.. so meh I don't know \ -_- /
