I like Double XP more than a platinum sale.
Nope, they usually do a plat sale half way into a season after the rush to level up toons. At that point, plat sales probably drop for them as not as many people are using elixers to level up, and they need something to re-ignite plat sales. Will never happen right before or right after an expansion when everyone wants to buy plat.
