I hope they add this soon, so many people have suggested this and nothing has been said against this suggestion that would make it a bad thing to add; so why not add it? I think the main reason for not doing it is the complexity involved. House item and position/orientation isn't difficult, it's dealing with edge cases like what if the user no longer has that item stored in the loadout? Where is it stored (db vs. device)? How do we deal with display cases and the items within them? Obviously we can come up with answers these questions, but a request like this tends to spiral out of control pretty quickly as you start working on it and that time may be better spent on other things that could be worked on.
Saving the layout to the app instead of the account would be much faster to implement, but then you couldn't take the data across devices.
I'll do some research into this now that I've seen how popular the requested the feature is.
