Vanity button for old gear - Ghost

Hi devs, This idea came to me playing old levels. and the huge influx of gold in the game. for common, rare, epic, gears only

The Idea:
The goal is to use old gears and use them as a vanity. the trick is that the only way to wear as a vanity is using gold or plat and is a one time deal to wear as a vanity but once you take it off....you have to re-purchase to make as a temp vanity again. this only works 1 at a time per set (weapon armor and helm) and can't be sold since its character bound. the button should be placed in the same area as (sell, awaken, upgrade, equip)

The look for role play:
Obviously there is many armors in the game and having them converted to permeant vanity's is time consuming. the goal is to use more gold from in-game and gives options to newer and old players alike. as the level of the armor in question increases in level so does the cost to make a temp vanity.

This is not a solution for new rare items:
the idea is to use old gears or gears that no-one uses and sheds more life to existing gear that might never get converted, while also helping players choose a look in the game. I still forward to gear that gets converted to vanity's but this way we have more options.

seems like a great idea bro. +1 i looted some dope daggers few days ago from a elite nordr boss, they sell for 100k because they look so cool.. but theyre useless.

Of course it does, but not all are rich...and this just opens and option for the rest of us poor people to be unique. If I remember right it's 1 time a year...when we can have it anytime we want.

No need to farm off new players but something for everyone :)

I didn't include legendary, sets or arcane or better just because of marketing value. Goal was to use gears already ingame that look good and keep the medieval style of AL.

i do get it. sometime i may actually look at the stuff i quick sell.

The forgotten event was added after the suggestion of making an item to enable players turn the desired piece of gear into a vanity ("vanity shard"), got rejected since this concept would require creating a vanity model of each piece of gear in the game, turning into a massive amount of data.

So this suggestion would end up the same way, even if u pretend to focus on common-epic gear only there would still be a big amount of gear to model.

wouldn't you agree after over 9 years the spacetime engine needs to evolve..because I think so :)

Yes, since that way they could solve the delay on content trying to keep up with the player actual position when using high ms% since the way it currently works is no good.

As for the capacity problem i guess they'll be slowly upgrade it to keep up with the content they release, I would have opted for the vanity shard suggestion over forgotten vanity event by making ingame surveys to decide what items get the chance to be turned into vanities.

Guess it's nice to dream, grown sceptical with sts over the years.

the forgotten event causes much arguments over players...my solution doesn't involve those rear gears tho. just old stuff :) common rare and epics.

Common rare and epics still involves a massive amount of collectable items such as heraldics, still not my point I never wanted forgotten event in the first place, just saying this suggestion has been suggested b4 and rejected to get forgotten event instead.

see that's what's nice about each suggestion..it has the ability to be tweaked to the idea that could be feasible. many hate the suggestion or forgotten vanity event because of the money they lose for permanent conversions. I lost quite a bit when the founders and forerunners were released so the feeling is mutual. but before the idea gets shot down... i thought id post something a little different :)

you remind me of draebatad.

Sorry, the way our vanity system works, it needs to be a unique item. There's just too much data here and sometimes, appearances are shared among different non-vanity items.
