Vanity question...

I know this has been talked to death, but please stay relevant. No flaming admins for something many of us don't understand or try to understand...

Is it one vanity to a mission? or are there multiple vanities with a rarity rate? By that I'm referring to the old energy system where you display the probabilty of getting a rare, common, legendary, etc...

The reason I say that is because there's this mission I really like that only gives green biker tops, and does so pretty frequently for me, whenever i decide to farm.

But I also hear rumors of getting a gamer top and socialite pieces from the same map, so I'm leaning towards the "rarity" table.


I'd like to hear your input/theories on this. Remember, please don't spam with comments like how unfair it is. That's getting old and a bit trolly...

Well, i know for sure some maps have the ability to do multiple vanities. If that is what you are asking.

And i assume they have different probability of dropping as some are much more common (socialite top vs gamer top)

I Think Every Map Should Have a 10% to Drop Something Great. Standard 2% for Pinks, 3% for Vanity (Considering It Should Be Worth Less), 3% for a Blood Blossom (Event Variable), 1% for a Mask, and 1% for Ultra Rare Vanity. Then If You Want To Move Chances Around On Maps Make Them Switch Daily, but At Least Give a Hint Where. But Have It Seperate From The Initial Droprates.
With the New Cap Coming Up; Stats Should Be Worth 1mil..

My interpret here:
Every Boss or Mini Boss or Ghost : with a Bag of Bean (weapon/gems only)- drop rate 100%
Weapons/gems Bag of Bean contained - 90% white Beans, 7.5% green beans, 2.5% Pink beans

Every mobs with 2bags of bean. - Weapons/ Gems Bean & Vanity Bean
Weapon/ gems Bean's bag: drop rate 5% from every mobs.
Weapons/gems Bag of Bean contained - 90% white Beans, 7.5% green beans, 2.5% Pink shard beans (only summer event)
Weapons/gems Bag of Bean contained - 90% white Beans, 10% green beans (before event or end of event)
Vanity bean's Bag: drop rate 1% from every mobs
Vanity bean's bag contained - 90% Biker top (common) - 7.5% Eagle/snake mask (rare) - 2.5% undead or dark manic (super rare)
Or 97.5% socialite top & 2.5% Gamer Top (eg: for hunter killer map) or 99.5% Soc legs & 0.5% albino bats (eg rooftop map) or so...

Every breakable item(with mark in map and drop gold) with 2bags of bean. - Weapons/ Gems Bean & Vanity Bean
Weapon/ gems Bean's bag: drop rate 10% from every item break

I personally never see those items drop a single gems or weapons. Definitely not vanity too (dev said so, this one I trust them)
My main with 170k+ kills and im very sure 1000% sure sure never see that b4!!!

*pls note the %percentage just presume as what i observed. It may vary! So dev can adjust the % accordingly when peoples whining for super rare drop...blah blah (undead antler mask is very good example)

Yeah I was wondering about the drop rates. lol Alolucard Idk how well the system would work, since I couldn't guess how many vanities have been farmed. I'd base the table on what people would like more. Most people like gamer, so its understandable that it's hard to get.

Say it's 1%, does that mean i only have 1% chance to get a vanity off the whole map or 1% to get a drop per kill? -confused-

Don't quote me on this, because I'm not positive, but a lot of comments from Carapace would suggest it is the latter (%1 to get a vanity drop per kill).

But even while those chances exist, its not like you get 1 vanity for every enemy killed. Wish it worked like that


I did read carapace's comments but couldn't dissect a lot of the math. Since there were enemies you'd kill without having a drop, something tells me there is an even lower probability of getting a vanity than 1% (0.6% I would guess).... the probability of just getting a drop from an enemy already seems high enough as it is...

Yeah, I don't remember the numbers... but it was to the affect:

%x that you will get a drop, %y that the drop will be a vanity, %z that the vanity will be <SOMETHING>

So, basically, you could work it out as:

We'll say x = 20%
y = 2 %
z = 1 %

That would be 0.2 * 0.02 * 0.01 = .00004 -> .004 % chance per kill

Seems logical that item that are more rare will have lower values for z.

1,000,000 kills and nvr once seen a non lootable breakable drop anything but a ghost.

I agree. I want to say I would ignore the non lootable breakable junk, but ever since someone reported that a player got a gamer top from the first two plants in hunter killer, i've been suspicious. Now, if it IS confirmed that a ghost can drop a vanity, I will never overlook a breakable item again.

Me personally, I'd like to see the introduction of a drop-rate descriptor of "Damn Near Never".

It's isn't numerically specific, but it does have a certain visceral appeal.

I can confirm that. I've destroyed a trashcan at blood in the streets which made a ghost appear. The ghost dropped dark manic mask after.
At rooftop assailant I got albino bats from destroying a paper package.

So if you not killing all monsters and not destroying all items then you don't need to wonder why you don't get any vanity. You really have to complete 100% of the map and not only 71% or something like that

Btw, I only got vanity once from a boss and that was an eagle mask (also my first vanity drop overall)
All my other vanity drops are from mobs or breakable items.
I suppose after the drops I get: mobs mostly drop the junk vanity like green biker or orange desire top (just got today 6 orange desire top drops) during the breakable items are the vanity safes with the valuables.

About ghosts, well mostly I get pinks from them. Ghost appear from items but also from normal mobs. (my high score are 4 ghosts within a single mission)

Sure, you do. If your pocket is full of vanity, you might drop it when someone kills you.
