1/16/19 | Preview the "Swamp Temple Challenge" this weekend!

SWAMP TEMPLE PREVIEW AND DIFFICULTY CALIBRATION

This weekend we are going to run a preview version of the new Swamp Temple Challenge event.

This event starts at 1:30 Texas time Thursday the 17th and runs until 1:30 next Monday the 21st.

Since we have never run something like this before in AL we would like to calibrate the difficulty and polish the experience before adding the full reward structure.

Please play with it this weekend and give us your feedback so we can polish the full system (and add all the amazing rewards)!

HOW TO PLAY

Travel to Festerfang Outpost and go through the portal. Energy is required to enter, and energy essence will drop (in zones other than the Swamp Temple) during the event.

Enter 'Solo' or 'Multi' (party and non-party)

* If you're in a party, the instance requires all party members to be present before starting
* If you're not in a party, the instance will wait for 3 other players to join you

The challenge begins when all participants are standing in the start circle:

+ Waves of Swamp Temple Guardians will appear.
+ Defeat all enemies to clear the wave.
+ You have sixty (60) seconds to clear each wave.
+ Earn points for defeating monsters.
+ Earn bonus points for every additional second that remains on the clock each wave.

The challenge ends when you die, your party wipes or if you run out of time.

COMPETE FOR FUN!

Leaderboards exist for both Pure and Enhanced runs.

Rewards are withheld for this trial (so potential issues will not affect the experience).

Swamp Temple Tokens and the Swamp Temple Token Vendor are not available during the trial but will be added after polish / finalization.

You will see 'Tokens awarded: 0' during the trial phase (so that critical economic issues can be averted).

AFTER FEEDBACK AND POLISH...

The full Swamp Temple Challenge system will return to include leaderboard-exclusive rewards (specially-colored Titles, unique Banners), token loot and a special vendor.

The Swamp Temple Challenge vendor will sell recipes required to craft the Locked Temple Treasure and it's 'Massive' counterpart.

Locked Temple Treasure chests will contain powerful Level 71 Arcane items. The Massive Temple treasure contains Heroic Samael's egg.

Nice to have a trial mode

Costs energy to enter and there's no rewards I'm not sure about this I don't see putting my time in to be worth it if I don't get anything :(

is it just me, or is this challenge gonna be dominated by rogs lmfao

Looks good.
A suggestion: add a small amount of gold loot and spirit weapons leveling xp for the trial version (same fashion as in the pirate booty event). Will help to keep players engaged

I honestly thought of the same thing so i hope there is some sort of “buff” or “bonus” if the party consist of all 3 classes.

Good idea Meowth but still farming for energy to enter for no rewards no xp nothing seems rather boring need some kind of incentive for players to actually play and give you guys feedback :)
