My thoughts exactly when I saw them as DOTD the first time!
I regret it that I bought them instead of spending these 250 Plat into something more useful like Elixirs or for a neat dragon later.
But hey, they were the first alive Pet (unlike Baloon), even when they are just three black flying pixels.
Theyy bring everything on dotd, this isn't the first time bats came on, has been done over 50x or so
Bats and many exclusive vanities are brought back occasionally at 40%off normal store price. The only things disc from Halloween are pumpkin heads and vanities and items from dungeon/packs.
