If one of them is using one (lets say round down) and the other is using a different method (say round to the nearest) then you could get what you are seeing. Inconsistent, yes; wrong, no.
You could also get that if they are both set to always round up or round to the nearest. Let's say that it's 361.049 and the ring is adding 0.449. That would show as 361.1 and 0.5, but when you add them you would get 361.498, which would round up to 361.5.
The math is still correct and the actual formula's that use those stats wouldn't be doing any rounding (until the end) so it all still works.
So not a lie, at best it is more like a mathematical typo.
