Hello forumers & lurkers, and welcome to a special segment of Forum Nonsense called Dev Watch.
Today we will be discussing an ongoing problem that is the decreasing population of players with red names online, also called devs. In the early 2011 and part of 2012 there were plenty of these players on from time to time. Now we need find out why and how can we get them back. But before you continue reading, please note that this is in no way a flame post or meant to cause trouble or anger.
Let's begin!
On this adventure I called open some help from my trusty friend Chivette. She will be helping to get in contact with the people I need to get the answers I want. And I will be your reporter delivering this valuable information straight to you!
Ace reporter, Joe Modda!
Arlor
To start this journey, I went to a mystical place called Arcane Legends. Right away I met with this man that people called "The Bard". This man said he could point me in the direction of 3 of Arlor's most knowledgeable players. Here's a picture of "The Bard"
After speaking with "The Bard" I went to speak to the 3 players he had spoken of. We sat down and had a little chat.
Me: Thank you guys for coming and for doing this. I really appreciate it.
All 3: No problem. Thank you for having us.
Me: So when was the last time you saw a dev and how many times have you seen a dev.
Rogue: Well, last I can remember, it was about a month ago and he just stood there not saying anything. But in total I've seen about 3 or 4 devs.
Mage: I've honestly never seen one. I spend most of my time in pvp perfecting my....(I zoned off after this point and was uninterested)
Warrior: I've seen only one shortly before the level 31 expansion. He was very kind and giving out information about the upcoming update.
Sadly, Chivette interrupted the interview because I had to catch a plane to travel to Alterra. I apologized for this inconvenience. Gladly, all 3 were totally totally fine, and I packed my things and made my way to Pocket Legends.
Alterra
When I landed, I was in the town of Forest Haven. There I met up with the town sheriff. We talked about how there were decreasing number of devs online. He said that they are usually surrounded by dozens of players and he thinks it may be scaring them into hiding. He then said that an anonymous source gave him a picture of the last known dev sighting. The picture is yet to be disproved and was allegedly taken earlier this month in something he called "the naked mile"?
I would like to thank the Sheriff for taking the time to share this information with me.
Shortly after talking to the town sheriff, I ran into a Blacksmith named Burke. I asked if he was fine if I asked him a couple questions and he agreed but with no cameras. Lucky for you, we always get the shot;-) The only information he did tell us was that he had noticed that there were less devs online, but that frankly he was more into making items. He was quite rude after he discovered the camera...
I didn't want to ask anymore questions in Pocket Legends seeing that most people were quite rude and mean. So we headed off to Alien Oasis to take a trip into outer space.
Blackstar
No time to rest as we headed off to our first interview. She was a new player that had recently started playing Star Legends, and had never even heard of a dev. So basically our first source was pointless at first, but luckily she had a friend who could maybe be helpful to us.
This player has been banned before and wished to have her identity concealed, so we gave her a Cycorp mask to put on over her face.
She told us that the last she had seen ANY player with a different colored name was a player named Delphina, but the name was not red but green. I asked if she knew anyone who could maybe give info about the past. She helped us get in touch with a celebrity and long time NPC.
Here's a little treat for the ladies. It's everyone's favorite celebrity! SUPERSTAR STYLES! He was working up a sweat in the court and was able to speak with us shortly after his game. He told us that soon after Star Legends was borned, he was invited to join the blackstar base. He thought it would promote his celebrity status, so he agreed. He also told us that there were devs on plenty of times in the earlier days of Star Legends. But sadly, he lost all contact with devs and hasn't seen one in months.
I was honestly too afraid to travel to Dark Legends in person. I had to video call a long time player.
Carvina
I video chatted a bit with a Dark Legends player. I can honestly say he was more rude than Burke, and had no infomation that was useful to me. I had to cut the call short because I couldn't handle all the obscene language he was using. I am truthfully sorry, everyone
So in conclusion, we DO have a decreased numbers in devs playing their games. We need to get them back and not have them go extinct ingame. We need answers....no, SOLUTIONS to this grave problem!
Please, as a community, help us and yourself think of a way or ways to get them back to us.
This is Joe Modda...signing out.
