How effective is the Wrath of Bael
Noob Question:
I'm planning to buy Wrath of Bael,
However, I'm thinking twice of how good it really is.
- It has higher DPS than Entombed hammers but lower damage
- It has higher Damage than swords (both pavise and pinks) but lower DPS
(It pretty much balances your DPS and Damage)
- It has mana bonus
- It procs melt armor
its about the same price of entombed warfares but much cheaper than mythics yet I don't see much using it.

I've been curious about this weapon as well, and look forward to feedback from its users.
While we're waiting, just to add some obvious, generic info to the conversation: The melt armor proc technically increases this weapon's damage and DPS, because you're now hitting with less damage mitigation working against you. Theoretically I would say this makes it a good weapon - and they just upgraded it's proc in the recent update. I haven't fought against any in PvP yet, however. Once I do, I'm sure I'll get a good idea (through a painful method) of how powerful it is.
in laymen's term, your damage increases per swing right? I guess it's not that 1-shot-kill type of weapon like hammers (though it has pretty good damage in it too) but I guess it would be pretty useful in boss fights (that's if the "melt armor" proc stacks.) The longer you fight, the better your damage gets with your max stat as its only limit. But we are both speaking based on our speculations here. I also want to hear opinions from the real users.

No, not per swing. Once the acid debuff is applied to the victim, you are going to hit them for significantly more damage. This is because their armor was reduced, thus reducing their overall damage reduction. I don't think the proc self-stacks - that would make it rather OP.Originally Posted by Alfred Emmanuel Tanopo

I heard from somewhere that it does stack though... Well, I guess that's why we really need to hear it from an actual user.

CONCLUSION:
Wrath of Bael is an excellent tank and team play weapon since it has proc to melt enemy's armor making your entire team's damage higher than normal.
However, since I am pretty vocal that I am no team player and i'd rather go solo, I will be going back to my trusty Storm Sword of Potency since the +25 str gives similar damage effect to Bael's melt armor.

That's a shame. I was hoping you'd come back with positive feedback on it - I was considering farming the L36 version (if there was to be one) and use it for PvP.
Well I think its positive for tankers esp elite ones since it helps the entire team achieve higher damage. But again, since I would rather go solo/non-tank type, I revert back to my previous weapon. But now, I am using the Hammer version of the SS which is the Devourer's Maul. Damage wise, its actually higher than Bael but lower than Entombed Warfare BUT the HP regen (heal) and +25 str proc (coupled with charged VB + ribbit skill) is extremely useful for damage dealing.
I also noticed one time that its proc actually stacks (I think?) There's this one instance when I was farming mother and I noticed its proc effect having "thicker" layer of aura around me. I checked my stats and noticed that my HP is at whopping 5.3k. I don't even remember being under the effect of a charged VB but even if I do, my HP would never go that high with my Lepre equipped. Not planning to change weapon anytime soon unless a lvl 36 version of it appears.
Some weapons are good but extremely underrated due to its cheapness and easier to find. I still think entombeds are overrated and overpriced (warfare). Used one, ended up selling it the day after.

It does stack - at least up to 2x. I noticed this while playing around with it and remembered your thread. I went from +25 STR, saw the proc symbol flash again, and noticed I was then at +50 STR. It would take some serious luck to see to have it triple stack, but I'm sure it's possible once in a blue moon.
I had it triple stacked once while farming Mother. I checked my stats everytime the proc symbol appears and it added 200+ on my HP thrice.
you just have to keep attacking thin air even while walking to keep it proc-ing.

I use Entombed (the yellow one, forgot the name) to get crit, cause i'm using full crit equipment+crit passive skill+vengeful (to maximize crit percentage.. but still full str stats...

Wrath of bael and an entombed show similar increases in party damage output when proced. However, since an entombed also reduces crit and accuracy of the target I would say its the best legendary weapon proc fore offense. The proc on the new architect weapons are nice for tanking, however basic use of both a lvl35 entombed hammer of warfare and a lvl36 architect blade of assault shows me my entombed is still better damage wise. This said the will version of this weapon seems like a very good weapon for any non-myth off tanks, and I would strongly recommend it (i have considered buying the will version for mob clearing myself).

This might be a little off topic, but I'll ask it anyway since you are already comparing warrior weapons.
Just reached lvl 35. Been using dimensional tagre for lvls 31-34, bought also one for lvl35 (since it was really cheap). It has been solid weapon and helped me level up.
Well, for lvl35 there is a lot of other choices... The problem for me is that they constantly put my stats to red when I compare them to tagre in CS.
By reading what you describe above, there seems to be also something to gain...
Anyway the choice between architects, entombed and whatever there is hard. I mean I should pay 100-200k (or more) for getting red stats and "chance to proc" something.
Surely I would welcome the best balance on dmg, crit, and str...
Any advice on this is highly appreciated

Targe is an armor weapon. An entombed hammer will offer over 70more damage and a better proc. An architect will off more dps and more damage than your targe, and agian, a better proc. Targe is the weakest pink wepaon In game, that's why it is cheap, (the drop rate of targes and devourer mauls are the same fyi).
Here is a list of my personal scaling of lvl35 pink weapons (1 is strongest and 5 is weakest).
1) entombed hammer of warfare.
2) architect blade of assault
3) architect blade if will
4) Devourer maul (potency ir assault)
5) targe (grace or savvy)
Place wrath of bael at #3 if there is a lvl35 version.
