Theoretical question about Mythic Armor Upgrade

Is it possible to lend a someone a mythic helm with the intention of having them return it after upgrading solely their armor?

Hypothetical scenario: Trustworthy guild-mate is finally able to purchase mythic armor -- someone (me) lends a non-upgraded mythic helm for them to begin armor upgrade quest -- guild-mate completes armor upgrade portion of quest (not completing helm portion) -- guild-mate returns borrowed helm -- guild-mate continues farming (now equipped with more resilient gear) in order to earn enough to purchase mythic helm on their own.

Apparently yes, but if you turn in the quest, you won't be able to upgrade your mythic helm if you get one.

Mmmh. Should be possible. When you go back to hermit with the shards for the armor, you complete the armor quest and then he asks you if you want to accept the helmet quest. At that point you should abort, and give the helm back -- but be aware, i dont know if the helm becomes untradable from that point on or only when you finished the quest. But if you put some safety net, like, be willing to sell the helmet to ur friend if it becomes untradable, then its worth a try.

But be quick. Tomorrow there will be an update, and if that works, it is a glitch and sts will nerf it. So hurry!
