Problem with Insta-Crashing

I have been experiencing an ongoing series of "insta-crashes" when launching PL. I am playing from a new iPhone (bought about 3 months ago), and whenever I try to launch the app, it almost instantly fails to launch.
I have tried restarting the phone a few times, but this doesn't help.
Should I try to re-install from iTunes? If I have to re-load the app on my iPhone, what will happen to my characters and my in app purchases?

Characters are stored online. Try a delete/reinstall.

Here's a bit of knowledge.
Don't jailbreak your phone/ipod.
It messes things up enless you know what's up.
Also slows it down and makes restarting the phone/ipod take longer.

I enjoy the normal alot more.
