1vs1 pvp

I thought it might be a good idea to make a pvp arena that only two people can enter. First person to kill the other wins. In pvp maps I keep seeing 1vs1 being ruined by other players joining in. The map could be very small and could link into team death match stats? Just though it might be fun to try against friends guildies etc without other people accidentally affecting the outcome. (If its already been suggested plz let me know but I couldn't see the thread anywhere...)

Edit: Just adding idea from reply maybe some kind of gold stake ie: both players put in some gold and winner takes it all.
