Oh yeah, a few weeks ago, I found a hockey stick on the yard. Nobody claimed it, and a week later, someone threw it in the thorny bushes.
I mean, I could get it, but there no real use.

Hockey is scary. I remember one time in middle school someone hit me with their stick and it basically broke in half. It's still a fun sport, though.

The only hockey I ever played was in the street and having to move the goal every time a car came. And also the majority of the time it ended up with everyone beating eachother with the hockey sticks.

My fav, when I was big into hockey was Esa tikkanen - his posision was usually referred to as "instigator"
He was nicknamed "The Grate One" (a pun on teammate Gretzky's moniker "The Great One") for his ability to irritate opposing players, often just by talking to them in his Finnish-English "Tikkanese" or "Tiki-Talk."

Ahh, all I really know of ice hockey is what I've seen on tv. So I just wondered if goon was realistic haha
Nothing related to any players or drug references because they already got me into trouble

That is pretty impressive. I averaged a 5:45/mi in high school. I haven't been a competitive runner since (almost 20 years ago.) My son surprised me at the beginning of the semester and asked to try out for his middle school cross country team and made it to the state meet last weekend. Kinda re-lit my fire and I am running in my first 5k in since high school in 3 weeks. I do not anticipate regaining my old speed, but if I can finish sub-20 min... I will be happy.

That's sweet! Good luck to him - getting to state for running is an incredible achievement. I don't know many people that can do that.

You've gotta be pretty fast that's for sure. I was able to go to state for show pigeons but that's probably not much of an achievement...

My buddy Jayden won state on Wednesday. (Utah)

I made it to State all four of my years in highschool. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication, you just need to stay invested.

    Truth.

My goal is to get my legs back, and hopefully do a sprint triathlon next summer, and build from there. The cycling comes easy as that has been my drug for the last 10 years, but I have missed running. I would love to complete a full IronMan triathlon before I hit 40, but not sure my knees can handle 26+ miles of running.

@Will - He did.... horrible in state. Finished approximately 2 minutes slower than his regional time. I don't know if running with 300+ boys intimidated or what. He said his knees were bothering him, but haven't bothered him all season, so who knows. Could be a growth spurt. He wants to run in high school next year so I am going to start his training in a few weeks to start getting him built up for the extra mileage.
