And no, it is different because they are different levels. your weapon seems to be 30, his is 29. That is why there is a difference.

There are items of the same name with different stats. You can even see this in the NPC store items.
You have a plain fire staff, lvl 1, 37-49 dmg
You have a plain fire staff, lvl 5, 41-53 dmg
You have a plain fire staff, lvl 9, 45-57 dmg
You have a plain fire staff, lvl 13, 49-61 dmg
You have a plain fire staff, lvl 17, 53-65 dmg
You have a plain fire staff, lvl 21, 57-69 dmg

get the idea now?

But the shade they picked is so close to blue, that it does look like blue.

remember, purple is blue + red. It is just that the shade of purple they use has too much blue, not enough red
